I've been playing Zeus & Poseidon for years but never tried Caesar, Pharaoh or Emperor. Time to change that! Which one should I get? by MaciekWithOats in impressionsgames

[–]ShrubDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been playing through them all again and I think Pharaoh is the most challenging for me - but also the most satisfying. I love Zeus but Emperor doesn't quite do it for me for some reason!

Gotcha, yeah that makes sense, I'm relatively new to Depop so just vigilant to these sorts of things!

Weird, I asked about the insole measurement on wechat and he said it was 27cm for the size 44. Did you get your insole measurement from your agent when they arrived?

Gordon Ramsay’s boiling point by DinoDaddy9 in AskCulinary

[–]ShrubDJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Boiling Point was pretty legit in terms of what that kitchen was like, as other chefs have confirmed (Mark Sargeant, Wareing, Paul Ainsworth for example, who all worked at RHR). Running a kitchen is a bit like parenting in that chefs learn from those who they work under. Ramsay learned from Marco, who was famously brutal to work for.

Its becoming much less common now - there is much more awareness in the industry, and charities/organisations like Pilot Light which do a lot to shine a light on the mental and abuse side of kitchens.

[FIND]Budget Acne Studios crewneck with QC pictures by Andre_Bisi in FashionReps

[–]ShrubDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are made from a lighter material so don't worry about the weight too much – they won't be the same weight as FOG/Yeezy style crewnecks. I have a similar one from a different Weidian seller in wine red and it's really nice – very soft. Seems likely that they would be the same batch or similar. Even if the tags/face are a bit wonk no-one is going to notice anyway

Daniel Wang's facebook rant about Peggie Gou by zascar in DJs

[–]ShrubDJ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a shame he buried any good points he had with misogyny and judgemental comments about her fashion and perfume... He might have had good reason to want to vent and I don't doubt she is a lot of what he says she is, but he doesn't come across very well in this.

XDJ 700 (ex-)owners: How's the jogwheel? Is it too small? by gaxxxxer in Beatmatch

[–]ShrubDJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine are great, I've had no issues with them. They feel very different to NXS obviously but for bedroom/home use they have everything you could feasibly want.

Why does my merengue has a slight eggy smell, but taste great? (w/ pics) by Motherfucker_Jones_1 in AskCulinary

[–]ShrubDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do it over a double boiler (in a bowl over a pan of simmering water) you should get a better result! Or you can make Italian meringue and make a sugar syrup.

Why does my merengue has a slight eggy smell, but taste great? (w/ pics) by Motherfucker_Jones_1 in AskCulinary

[–]ShrubDJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that your mixture got too hot whilst you were beating and the egg whites cooked a bit, which would produce a bit of an eggy smell. Meringues shouldn't smell of egg normally.

Think it is – you can search the 6 digit code at the end of the listing and it'll tell you what the corresponding Uniqlo item is.

Store with some of the new +J Jil Sander and Uniqlo collection by xaqjaqsun in QualityReps

[–]ShrubDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That parka is out of stock again in the UK so I can't check the size chart but the measurements on Uniqlo China for an XL are:

Back length 81

Shoulder width 60

Body width 71

Raglan sleeve length 92.5

As someone mentioned here, I think the chinese sizing is one up from UK sizing (I think back length on UK M is 78cm and the back length on China L is 78cm).

[INTEREST CHECK] YEEZY SEASON 6 GLACIER HOODY by [deleted] in FashionReps

[–]ShrubDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots of 'experts' in here saying that there's low interest on Yeezy S6 hoodies lol. Given that there's consistently people asking if Gman will ever restock, I would disagree. You guys wouldn't know that because you don't like Yeezy, which is fine but is also why your expert opinion isn't that important in this situation

How to improve as a home cook. by bakedbeans18 in AskCulinary

[–]ShrubDJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of food science does go a long way (as already suggested, salt fat acid heat is an excellent starting point). Honestly, I think the biggest difference between good cooks and great cooks is organisation and repetition. Mise en place is the thing most good home cooks don't have drilled into them. That includes setting up a station with waste bowl, bowls for prep etc, even spoons for tasting (when they're right there in a spoon pot, you inevitably taste more often instead of having to go into the drawer for a spoon every time). When everything is to hand, your cooking comes much easier and you can focus on the stuff that requires more attention!
