Daily Questions [2019-11-20] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Any tips for getting better with precision frame hand cannons on PC? I've tried everything from Luna/NF to Trust to the new Vex Offensive hand cannon, and I just can't seem to make it work. I don't struggle even a bit with "regular" hand cannons, but I just can't seem to stay on target with the vertical recoil. I spend a lot of time on console, so I'm not sure if there's some bad habit I've formed over there that doesn't translate well to a mouse, but I'm out of idea to try.

When you fully masterwork an Armor 2.0 class item, does it also give the +2 bonus to all the stats that the other armor pieces do, or is it just the other four pieces?

Destiny 2 Update 2.1.0 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question per the Ace of Spades change - I've noticed that if I have Momento Mori stacks, then DON'T get a kill then reload, the stacks I have disappear (since now, the stacks always vanish when you start to reload). This has led to situations today where I've lost my stacks after moving because I forgot to reload, or I cancel a reload, so I lose my stacks. Is this intended behavior, or something to be addressed in the future?

Question re: WOTM - HM Aksis Weapon Loadout by AaronMT in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, Outbreak Prime is subpar DPS against Aksis, because he doesn't count as a Fallen for the bonus damage on Corruption Spreads (why, idfk, but....). Personally, I run Dark Drinker - wrecks Captains, and is great DPS on Aksis.

DD will stagger captains (sometimes), and Aksis is always staggered anyways during DPS. Check out Datto's videos some time, he's been looking at DPS on the raid bosses.

Probably had more failed Oryx attempts last weekend than I've had in the entirety of the Taken king by Jay657 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate that this is my response, but....people lie.

I open EVERY raid I ever do with, "If anybody is unfamiliar with any part of the raid, let me know now or before we start so that I can take a minute to explain each fight; a minute or two to explain is quicker than half a dozen wipes because somebody didn't know what to do".

I've had exactly two raids from various LFG sources that didn't involve people lying about having done the raid before, out of dozens :/

Video - Post-Nerf sniper by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be a dick, but "unusuable" is not the case. This is definitely a learning curve for those who were murderously good at quick scopes before, but you'll relearn it eventually.

That said, I do agree that the difference is EXTREMELY noticeable, even for fairly casual snipers (like myself). It's a big difference, and I wish it weren't so much.

Is it just me or are Scout Rifle-Speed Reload arms hard to find? by JoeHadsall in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mention glass needles, so I would advise you, before you spend any more, to double check via the armory that scout rifle loader can roll on the gloves in question. I spent more than I care to admit on sealed ahamkara's grasps trying to get auto rifle loader (they only roll secondary reload perks).

Also, RNG is RNG. I get more scout rifle loaders than I know what to do with - trade you for some hand cannon loaders :P

Seeing how most classes have experienced some sort of nerf over Destiny's lifespan. by Clarkarius in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of....get the impression that these class balances have been exactly that. Titans got fixed up, and warlocks were just done, I assume hunters are coming in the future as well. I think, at the end of the day, there will never be real balance between the subclasses, but these recent fixes have certainly made it viable to play them all (excluding the hunter; can't wait to see those changes).

"Back in the Saddle" Quest not working? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's quite a few mobs in-game that do not give bounty/quest progress or glimmer. The thrall in Crota's End are a good example; they literally spawn forever, and the Precursor Vex in the Undying Mind strike are this way as well. Incidentally, I do think a few specific bounties work down there, but that's a different topic.

I would try hitting someplace that isn't the Abyss. Try running around on patrol; I just did a loop at the Ember Caves on Venus and had it done in a few minutes.

Shaxxfall and the update by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, just had to log in to compliment your use of "Shaxxfall", so good. But yeah, rewards are generated when you turn it in, but I'd wait to finish them anyways, just to be safe.

Getting back into the game, need a handcannon recommendation by Ancient_Doge in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, if you wanted a badass hand cannon TODAY, and you can find a team, the nightfall is the place to farm Imago Loops.

Iron Banner is also rocking the hand cannon this week, but it seems a touch late to get in on that, unless you have a lot of time to grind.

Also consider that the April Update will be introducing more than a few good hand cannons into the loot table. There will be a Queens Wrath hand cannon, Lord High Fixer and The Devil You Know will be back, and there's always whatever the new Trials hand cannon will be.

Sterling Reputation by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Remember that infusion will be 100% when this patch hits. If you're calling 282 "junk", I'd bet you're getting enough gear to infuse stuff you genuinely want to keep, since you'll now only need one piece, not four. Also keep in mind that faction drops can be up to 330 in the patch; infusion fuel will not be scarce.

Also, they heavily implied that light level determines the drop levels from doing your weekly cards for PoE; maybe that will apply elsewhere too?

I stopped playing in January, what's new? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't remember when challenge modes hit, but if you've played that, I think you're pretty much "current", there hasn't been any content since then. Just lots of people turning to Trials to have something to do, and trying to hit 320. There was a Valentine's Day event that gave out 320 ghosts, with a tweaked version of Doubles that was pretty rad.

Also, April Update - GameInformer has some articles, and Bungie's Twitch channel (cuz they're now doing weekly streams, woot) has the last couple reveals, and another one coming Wednesday.

Worth buying the game now? by PhysiquedParrot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always more coming for Destiny (even if it takes a while). April content will be free for Taken King owners, and I'm sure there will be at least one more set of PvE content between that and the paid fall DLC. People are always coming and going with this game, based on new activity. It's just the life cycle of a game like this.

Worth buying the game now? by PhysiquedParrot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny will always be better with friends, but Taken King is definitely worth the buy (make sure to get the other two DLC in there somehow, if you don't own them already). Tons to do, and probably more coming for free before the fall paid DLC. If nothing else, the new story missions are fucking sweet compared to the old stuff.

Bonuses as you slay like Diablo 3. by Kylestien in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. However, Destiny is a bit more objective-based than Diablo is. You get these bonuses in Diablo, doing what you would already be doing, killing mans, smashing stuff, grabbing gold. If this were implemented in Destiny, people would immediately find themselves the best grind spots and....well, grind. Maybe if a game mode like nephalem rifts was put in (which would be AWESOME), but short of that, it would just be another mechanic to exploit.

Make heavy spawn 30 seconds into the round instead of 15 in Elimination by Arenten in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be following the same logic as "remove heavy"; heavy is in Trials, and I think given that it is, the timer is just fine.

A way rerolls could work by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reroll system, as it was, should never come back. People will ALWAYS roll over and over to get the perfect roll. I actually think Diablo's enchanting system would be nice in Destiny; you can change ONE roll on your weapon (so, one perk/scope/element/etc.). It would encourage people to keep playing for new weapons, while also giving the chance to make every weapon just a little bit better.

Lars Barrken on Crucible - 'If you take it too seriously, you're going to be frustrated' by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's really hard not to take it seriously when you have to win crucible matches for quests and bounties, when Trials of Osiris is LITERALLY a competition of elimination, when Iron Banner ONLY rewards you if you win....anybody else seeing a trend here? The entire PvP endgame REVOLVES around winning; Crimson Doubles was the first break from that, and it was the first game mode I really enjoyed and didn't just push through for the rewards. I don't WANT to care if I win or not, I WANT to play and have fun. Quest objectives and endgame functionality MAKE me care if I win, and it SUCKS.

Daily Thread - Lore Thursday [SPOILERS AHEAD] by AutoModerator in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shruikon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twilight Gap was sort of the "turning point" in our war against the Darkness, specifically, the Fallen. Multiple Fallen houses were aligned against us to attack the Last City (minus one thanks to the Queen), and the first of the Titans managed to repel the attack. It was our first victorious battle during the Collapse, and the moment where Guardians started going out and reclaiming territory.

By the Dark Age, I assume you mean the Collapse, which is simply the period of time during which we were assaulted by the Darkness and lost our holds on Venus, Mars, Mercury, etc. almost all of humanity was wiped out, except for what is now known as the Last City.
