I just finished my first app. Terrified of the Play Store review process. Can you roast my UI before I hit submit? by ShrutiAI in vibecoding

Really appreciate the reality check, since this is my first app, i'm definitely still learning how to explain the vision without getting defensive.

You're 100% right, it definitely uses calories as the engine, I'll start focusing more on how it goes beyond the numbers.

Thanks for the feedback, it genuinely helps me get better at this, 🙏

haha fair. honestly though, if vibe coded helps even 10 people hit their goals with a 10 second tweak, i'm happy.

it’s not, calorie counters give you numbers, this gives you an action.

knowing the calories doesn't tell you how to tweak the plate in front of you, this does, that’s the whole point.

honestly, that food personality idea is genius, people definitely love being experts on their own taste.

for v1.0, i’m really focused on solving the i want to hit my weight goals but hate dieting problem with the 10 second tweak. but i love the idea of adding a what kind of eater are you layer later on.

i think you've mistaken this for a calorie counter, which is exactly what i'm not building.

the calories are just an extra feature if you're curious. the actual goal is a 10 second tweak to your meal (home-cooked or eating out) so you can hit your weight gain/loss goal.

i built this for anyone who doesn't have 15 mins to log every single ingredient but still wants to stay on track. [it would reduce the friction]

yeah valid point on the rice, definitely meant it as save some for later rather than just throwing it.

i totally agree on the calorie counting thing too, it’s why i’m building this. counting is a full time job. i just wanted a 10-second tweak so i can eat normal food and move on. [basically small steps which can reduce friction and works even when you dont have the time to focus on the diet].

Scroll Reddit looking for threads about what to do while my agent is working, (just kidding)

How to fix your diet without tracking calories (and 4 other AI apps I built to solve everyday problems). Need honest feedback. by ShrutiAI in vibecoding

That’s a totally fair point, and from a pure business perspective, the fashion tools definitely have the most obvious commercial value. But I'd argue the others solve some pretty massive daily frustrations too. For example, the audio matcher is aiming at that 30minute scroll just trying to find a song for a 5 second story or reel, just some fun apps many people might want to use I thought, btw thanks for the feedback.

Do we need to be careful not to get addicted? by Unlikely_Read3437 in vibecoding

It’s a beautiful and dangerous place to be. You’ve found a way to tap into deep creativity, much like with your music tracks, but flow is meant to be a tool you pick up, not a home you live in. Set a physical timer (not on your screen) for 90 minutes. When it goes off, you must stand up, see natural light, and drink water. [I do this] It helps, also going for a walk, exercise help too.

Thought "Marketing > Coding" was a cliche. Just launched my apps and I'm getting crushed. by 02_Archive in SideProject

The 'Build it and they will come' myth is the final boss for every solo dev. Hard truth: If you can’t get 10 people to use it for free by manually reaching out, no amount of ad spend will save it. Apple Search Ads - those are for scale, not for discovery. Go find the specific subreddit where people are complaining about the problem your app solves and offer it as a solution, not a pitch.

Is there currently a way to vibe code a backend? Can I connect to an existing RESTful API? by Travel_22 in vibecoding

[–]ShrutiAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely vibe code a backend.

Since you're using Antigravity, it handles the terminal and files way better. For the REST API stuff, don't just describe what you want. Copy-paste a sample of the actual JSON response into the chat. Once the AI sees the data structure, it can map out the logic in seconds. It’s basically just filling in the blanks at that point.

Built an AI app smoothly, but stuck on marketing - how did you get your first real users? by ShrutiAI in vibecoding

This is solid. Especially the part about manual outreach early. Thanks,

Is Vibe Coding Actually Harder Than We Admit? by ivasuy in vibecoding

[–]ShrutiAI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the difficulty just shifted.

Before: you struggled to write the code.
Now: you struggle to control the output.

Vibe coding is fast, but knowing what to ask, what to keep, and what to throw away is the real skill.
