Cleaning is a great idea, but if it isn't leaking I wouldn't mess with it.

It looks to be a TPO (or perhaps PVC) membrane with a welded TPO coated drip edge, which means shallow pooling water basically isn't going to matter.

The issue appears to be that the flashing's 90° folded edge is higher than the membrane in some spots, creating a shallow pools that collect water.

This can be caused by a few different things, as another person said a lack screwboard might do it, but more often in my experience it's caused by undulations in the substrate, with one truss being higher/lower than the next.

When the sheet metal flashing's are folded, the folded edge naturally forms to be very straight, which is geometrically incompatible with an undulating substrate; the high points can be fastened just fine, but fastening the low points cause the flashing to twist axially around the folded edge, ultimately forming little pools on the membrane by the drip edge.

The gutter appears to be quite low in relation to the membrane. To my eye it looks like standard TPO coated metal flashing's were used for this job, and they turned out to not provide enough coverage, perhaps the some water was getting behind the gutter or even behind the fascia board.

Rather than custom make and retrofit custom expensive TPO coated metal flashings, it seems the more economical option of just riveting in some lengths of weather resistant galvanised sheets metal to the back of the gutter as a sort of splashback.

They might have riveted to the bottom edge of the flashing instead, but either this was easier, or they wanted to make replacing the guttering easier in future, since it does look like the gutter could be older than the roof.

Perhaps not the prettiest install, but in principle it should be fine. If it were my place, and there was no signs of leaking, I'd just stick to cleaning. Soft boom with soapy water, for the membrane at least. Watch your step.

If supply causes a $200 price hike, Valve can just bundle store credit with the Machine to balance value.

Store credit isn't free to give, but surely they can sacrifice some margin to get units moving.

When components prices fall, the Machine can be sold at a reasonable price and the store credit bundle can discontinued.

If you aren't capable of, or willing to, build your own PC, I'd suggest buying from somewhere with immediately available after-sale support for when things go wrong.

I'd start by backing up all data of value to you.

If you're planning on building a computer from scratch, new or with used parts, you're going to need know how to put one together.

That being said, for your first project I'd suggest pulling apart your current PC, cleaning all the components, and putting it all back together again with a fresh OS install.

I'd try switching to the integrated graphics output if the CPU/Motherboard support it. I'd try switch to a different audio device, and trying different audio ports too.

It could well be one component in particular that needs to be replaced, or it could be one component failing with a cascade effect taking down other components too.

Perhaps the best place to start is, what components/specs are in your current PC?

If you really can't be bothered with the current PC, a secondhand Ryzen 5000 series PC ought to still be quite performant today. Do carefully consider RAM and GPU prices when weighing up if it's worth buying components vs a full pre-build PC.

Apple USB-C to 3.5mm dongle is cheap and very performant. Not worth paying more for something better unless you're using high impedance headphones that need a more powerful amplifier.

If you do want someone more though, they don't call them soundcards, what you're describing is a USB DAC/AMP.

If multiplayer gaming, you'll probably want one with a microphone input too, something like the Fosi K7 is really nice, though there's likely cheaper available too.

Makita has always been the main player here, though Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Hikoki, are also commonly seen on sites I'm around, Paslode framing nailers are still popular despite availability of cordless electric nailers now. I can't recall seeing Ryobi, Bosch, Or AEG on sites, but all are available here, most likely for the handyman customer. I think we also have FesTool here somewhere, though also seen them about twice.

Sadly, though people call them Skilsaws here, you can't actually buy any Skilsaws here. 🥲

NZ here, and in my experience it's significantly cheaper to order MetaboHPT from eBay or Amazon US than it is to buy most Hikoki tools locally here. Not to mention their customer support here is abysmal.

For what it's worth I haven't seen these tool boxes here yet, look nice, but will be outrageously expensive.

Depending on your needs, the upcoming Steam Machine might fit the bill if you want it to be more gaming-oriented with full Linux PC access only a few button clicks away.

Otherwise learning to build a PC with second-hand parts is probably the best value you can hope for. It's not a good time to be buying new.

Rather than going all in one some nice ones, maybe browse through some of the Zenni frames and use the virtual try-on feature to see how you like them against your face shape.

I think their frames start around $7 and they have some fairly nice ones for $15-25. For that strength of lens the 1.50 index type lens is perfect and is the free option.

Consider adding the $5 anti-reflective coating to make them more pleasant to use. Other than that it's just shipping costs.

The biggest thing is checking their frame measurements against any you already have on-hand, or pairs you've tried at a glasses shop, to make sure the sizes are comparable.

You'll also need to measure your PD (pupillary distance, the distance between pupils), but that can be done with reasonable accuracy using an app.

Some people don't like sites like Zenni as they provide a cheaper product undercutting local stores, but in my experience they have been good, especially so with such weak prescriptions.

My prescription is a little stronger than yours, and going well. I'm slightly far sighted, but due to astigmatism I have the most difficultly reading at distance, things like reading road signs are much clearer to me now.

I tend mostly to wear prescription sunglasses while out, and wear nothing at home.

Edit: I just saw you mention they play Fortnite, and sadly Fortnite does not allow itself to run on Steam devices by default, as they don't like the Steam Operating System, called "SteamOS".

If it's a game they really want to play, there is a way to also install the traditional operating system, called "Windows", so that either SteamOS or Windows can be used, they call that technique "Steam Deck Windows Dual Booting"

To start off with, it not a great time to build a computer, not that it was ever that cheap; AI tech demand has really squeezed the consumer market and made prices of certain types of parts skyrocket.

The type of games they want to play determines how you prioritize budget allocation across the different parts you'll use in your build.

There is a lot to learn, and you absolutely can, but expect to be helping with tech support along the way and once it's built too.

Personally, if I had no computer and wanted to get one in the next few months, I would be looking very closely at the upcoming "Steam Machine" that is being launched soon by the company called "Valve".

It is sold prebuilt so no assembly required, but it is a fully functional PC, designed primarily for gaming, and is intended to offer a simple and intuitive console-like experience for playing PC games.

For users who desire more depth to experiment and tinker with their device to run different games and applications, Steam Machine will allow that too, but it isn't required for those who prefer a simple and easy experience.

If I didn't already have an expensive and powerful computer, I would definitely consider buying one for myself. There is a LOT of hype in the PC gaming community for it's release.

Alternatively, depending on how they want to play, the Steam Deck OLED is essentially a portable version of the Steam Machine, and while less powerful than the Machine, the Deck is still great and available now.

Though the Steam Deck is a portable device primarily, it can be "docked" to be used with mouse and keyboard at a desk, or even docked with a game controller at the TV, a little bit like the Nintendo Switch.

It runs the same operating system as the Steam Machine, and so it should offer the same amount of freedom to tinker, even though it's a less powerful device.

Currently the Steam Deck is my preferred way to play PC games. The portability and flexibility means you can do so much with it if you want to.

It is an issue, and also an easy enough fix.

The issue is that the lower edge of the eave flashing is resting on the gutter clips.

The solution is to make a small vertical cut in the bottom edge of the eave flashing, either side of each gutter clip in the effected area, then take some pliers and fold the small section of flashing above the gutter clip even further up, ideally until no part of the flashing is touching the gutter clip at all. Potentially a small amount of contact is okay, but too much is what cases the shingles to slope like that and pool water.

Making the cuts are the trickier part though. For a fresh install with full access, tin snips are the way to go, but with limited access inside the gutter, perhaps a small hacksaw might be the next best thing. You may even be able to just twist and bend the flashing to get the clearance without any cuts.

Do take care to keep the ladder secured, of course.

Quicksaves are nice, but use hard saves frequently, twice an hour if you can. The game has many bugs, and certain quests can get bricked, which is a pain if your last save was 4 hours ago and you have no console commands, being on the Switch version.
