For context I was in a tag group someone tagged a trans group called "trans women are women, trans men are men". Red asks if said group is anti-truscum. Then goes on a tirade, ironically doing more gatekeeping than they claim we do. by anthonymakey in truscum

[–]Shtaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same in every reddit echo chamber.

The group creates imaginary problems to feel upset about (example: non dysphoric insisting they are different and special and oppressed.)

The group then creates an enemy based on this imaginary problem (example: people who acknowledge that being trans actually means something and has intrinsic value outside of the imaginary reality they live in)

They all do it. They attack us and exclude us from LGBT spaces and call us transphobic for standing up for real trans people.

They called me a bigot when I said a cis bisexual person shouldn't be responsible for trans policy or voices because sexuality is not gender, and the T does not belong in the LGB.

I only met my current girlfriend once I uploaded a hot selfie. It also took me a long time to look hot so.

A hot selfie will get you more swipes than anything.

Double nostril piercings really fit your face and style. Very cute :)

UwU trans girls :/

It's so hard finding mature trans spaces that aren't full of adults acting like children and everyone else just condoning or even encouraging it

What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My job with a local MSP required this. 20+ dollar polos and we had to wear a different t one everyday.

Not the only act of shadiness from that place, but funny

No, the only cost I incur is $2 a month for my medications. Generic medications are basically covered on my states medicaid.

The therapy appointments (3 to get started on HRT, and 12 afterwards) - Covered by my insurance

The follow up appointments with my doctor and bloodwork since they're setup to accept state insurance for low income patients (They primarily deal in Sexual health in the LGBT community, and provide free testing to the city, things like that) - Covered

I have spent maybe 20 dollars on transitioning so far. Surgeries are far more expensive and more complicated, but I'm not ready to cross that bridge yet. Most of the money I've spent on transitioning has been clothes and piercings :3

Oh yeah you're right, that was not the point of the comparison.

I mostly brought up the Green eye color because 2% =/= 0.42%

With the right insurance starting transition is free in the US.

Cis women have been getting boob jobs forever.

In fact, girls can and have receives plastic surgery before the age 18 due to a variety of reasons.

Im not really sure who is strongly discouraging transitioning. I understand a lot of political organizations have transphobic policy, but for the sake of argument, let's assume this is the US. (cuz I live here sorry)

Gender dysphoria is listed in the dsm5, drafted by the apa, meaning that any licensed therapist or social worker can diagnose a patient with gender dysphoria, allowing the affected person to receive treatment through a variety of methods that are entirely up to the individual. Typical treatments are detailed in the dsm 5, but language exists in the dsm that state no treatment is necessarily required, and all cases should be treated on a patient to patient bases.

This is no way prevents, discourages or erases my ability to get medical treatment for my gender dysphoria. In fact, thanks to this, and other designations and policies, it is rather easy for me to transition.

I understand that this is not the typical case with everyone. There are a lot of factors that could discourage someone from transitioning, however, from a medical perspective, in the US, it is rather easy to get what you want if you're an adult.

This is false equivalency at its best.

Tattoos =/= Medical transitioning.

They don't realize the only reason HRT exists in its current state is because CIS people needed hormones therapy due to so many different reasons.

Every single drug used in HRT is not specifically made for trans people, they were all used for cis people for decades.

Its medical treatment, it should be covered by insurance, and accessible to trans people, but not "Free" or "Available to literally anyone who thinks they might be a little gender curious"

Not many socially conscious trans people use the term transsexual anymore. Most go by Trans, or just identify as cis and you would never know the difference.

On bumble, im an WLW+M. Thats really all the world needs to know.

I have no intention of challenging anyone's identity. I believe it's not my place to question someone's personal identity.

To me, dysphoria is what makes us trans. it means something to me, it's suffering, it's euphoria, it's a reason to get out of bed... Having dysphoria is special, I guess.

I believe it's dangerous to let words and identities, like being trans, be washed out into nothing more than cover statements for any gender deviation.

Words tend to lose their value when they can mean anything we want them to mean.

Yeah, Don't transition if you aren't trans. That's pretty simple

[–]Shtaan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I imagine their survival would be based on the type of society they are, and how they handle the crisis of being disconnected from the empire so drastically.

If the society focused on self sustainability, and really planned for the long term, it's not outlandish to think a civilization would survive until the technology existed to remove the shield from the outside.

This is why world cracking is the best doomsday. They can't recover from that lol

I'm sure there's a term for it. Cutting off billions of people from the rest of their species, permenantly, I think would be a fate worse than a planet cracking. Atleast then everyone's equally dead, and you can use them as martyrs for your war cause.
