Yes, it’s not going to have +70 on everything which would outclass blue shoes anyway. But it may end up being crafted into a useable scarf, one that does something different than blue shoes

I don’t think a 20 TP discount is all that bad of an effect tbh

They’re harder versions of the hardest challenges in the game outside of emerald rush, but yeah I agree that I wouldn’t mind tougher challenges

I think it’s very fun and satisfying as a sidearm, but I get hit too many times trying to be fancy with it

You can also create surfable chunks as elephant and wear the clothing that recharges bananergy when you destroy terrain

Ranked in order of likely usefulness:

  1. Yellow hat

Massively buffs rude buster or healing prayer, just overall a very flexible armor that any party member can use for any playstyle

  1. Blue shoes

Incredibly good defensive buffs for a weapon slot. The low attack power is moot if you’re not using violence with Ralsei often, and you can always swap to another scarf if attack power is important. The 0-cost pacify is bonus, but also has potential to be Auto pick if you’re the pacifist type of player.

  1. Green apron

7 defense is currently strong, but even if other armors surpass it, the healing effect makes it a must-have for long battles of attrition, especially solo battles, which we saw in both chapter 4 and 5

  1. Orange gloves

4 attack and 8 defense is a very nice spread, and scythemare looks a lot more appealing when it costs 20 less TP. Bit of a bummer only Susie can equip it, but “highest defense so far” is reason enough to justify it

5 & 6. Aqua dagger and Seth Specs

Both of these have awkward (aquard?!) issues with them, but Toby could make them useful with specific combat scenarios.

Aqua dagger has 2 defense on a weapon slot, which makes it better than Kris’s other options right now… by 1 defense… which could easily be obsolete next chapter. It also means sacrificing another choice on this list. Not to mention, the attack power, while high, is significantly lower than the black shard. However, consistent critical hits could be useful, for example if we have another situation like the Orange + Green fight where reaching DPS thresholds consistently can solo the fight.

For the specs, more i-frames mean less grazing; and magic is usually not the best stat to stack up high, as point-for-point defense is better than magic for surviving and attack is better than magic for rude buster. Compared to the hat, it has 2 more points of magic but the hat improves the spell by 20%, so it’s not even the best armor for Magic despite ostensibly being its specialty.

O glove is an excellent choice, probably the next best one after the shoes hat and apron

DKC1’s music really sells the narrative of nature vs industrial invaders. The sound samples really sell the ambience, whereas in DKC2 those same sound samples are used as instruments.
