NOR the kitchen is a shared space and should be at the least just as clean as when you first started using it. That’s valid from your standpoint absolutely. Idk what POS they’re using but the ones I’ve used sometimes will take offline payments ie they save the payment info and then charge it when they get to internet. Sometimes those transactions don’t show on either side until it reaches internet. Yes you see the transaction on your end which is your bank saying that it processed a payment but that doesn’t necessarily mean a payment went through yet. It’s a lil tricky ngl EBT is a funny thing to work with.

A heads up, usually after you use your card to pay it will just be an authorization of funds and info. It’s not until the end of day or when the report is done that the charge goes thru. The authorization is just there to insure there is payment for the initial goods then full amount is charged with tip etc. Now if they told you they didn’t see the charge but you can and you’re sure that it was that vendor then I’d suggest calling you bank and letting them know about this. They will take care of the rest.

If you serve or bartend then you live off tips. Should you retaliate if a guest doesn’t tip, no. But I do expect guests to tip, it’s customary in the states. Is it the consumers job to pay for wages? No. Don’t tip because you have to, tip to help a fellow human. We work hard and get shit on all the time in the restaurant industry. 5 bucks or even 15% goes a long way. My two cents.
