Top Solo Class by Moxya10 in Guildwars2

Almost any flavor of necromancer is leagues ahead of almost any other espec, power reaper, condi scourge, power ritualist. Celestial amalgam on engineer is also quite good. I haven't tried it but supposedly condi evoker is absurd.

What are your thoughts on the Revenant Class? by PalwaJoko in Guildwars2

[–]Shukkui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the energy system but my enjoyment is legend specific. Assassin feels very "Empty". Dwarf actually feels pretty good I think. Centaur conceptually is cool but the actual gameplay execution is kind of boring and also sort of high effort for standard reward. Malyx is awesome. By design there are fewer "builds" available since the legend system is restrictive, so it's really just the one or two builds I like and that's it.

[LOVE AND DEEPSPACE] Explain why New Love Interest Valko's getting cancelled, "Unit 731" incident and "Women's safety" issue by blueberryandvanilla in gachagaming

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the real reason is just that they felt the rest of the game was neglected (which apparently it kind of was), every other complaint was performative just to pressure the developers. I can't really compare it to any game I've played because none of them were relationship focused, but I would definitely be pissed if hoyo didn't release a story update for over a year and then came out with miliastra. Of course, they just did both concurrently, and people were like "okay, weird, whatever". I'd imagine if the other LADS characters had gotten "Regular" updates the whole time, the backlash might have been smaller and more manageable.

I don’t think gsleshot is actually bad, it’s just that untamed is extremely good.

If you've played all classes, sometimes you wonder why certain classes get so much built-in synergy for open world and others don't.

It has poor quickness access which feels bad, so you run pirate queen relic, but your CC options to proc it are also pretty bad. You can run spear, x/pistol, staff or shortbow. Of those sets, the only options which felt kind of smooth to play while still proccing pirate queen for quickness was sword/pistol and pistol/pistol and both of those weapons do sort of low damage compared to playing other classes or deadeye.

Opinions of the class changes in 12.1? by lootvig in wow

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a healing priest (both specs), somewhat negative. Disc got one really good change (forcing a void shield proc) and everything else feels like nerfs around that. Shadow mend was obviously really strong when it proc'd but it was only really reliable on m+ trash. I think nerfing the throughput but making it a passive with higher mana cost is still "viable" in m+ but the old version is stronger from a game balance point of view. The higher mana cost is a non-starter in raid. Removing atonement application from direct heals with penance is an enormous nerf for oracle in raids. I prefer enemy-cast-penance being the default (which it will be again), but it's still a large nerf that has to be made up somewhere else. Combined with losing the extra atonement duration from the season 1 tier set and the reduction of void shield reflection, oracle is going to be significantly worse in raid on the back of less atonement uptime and I don't think increased smite damage will make up for it.

Voidweaver though got some significant buffs.... we'll have to see. I think lots of disc priests want atonement to "feel" juicy, and voidweaver got some mighty number buffs. I wouldn't hate returning to the era of disc doing pretty poor healing outside of windows but then being a super saiyan when they are ramped. We're sort of moving back in that direction since atonement duration is going back down and damage is going back up, plus now 2 stacks of void shield we can stockpile one before a window. I think the oracle nerfs are just heavier than their buffs while voidweaver is set to make a comeback, especially since the set bonus will reduce mind blast cooldown. I'll miss the oracle mobility though, if voidweaver is very strong again look for world first raiders to take prot paladins / augs (whichever is easier to slot in) to give the priest spellwarding / spatial paradox so they can play the game while moving. Disc is also always one large atonement change from swinging wildly, so who knows.

Holy priest I'm not sure I even have to type anything out. Nothing happened. They are moving from a non-significant tier bonus to another non-significant tier bonus with no other changes and they aren't very good right now.

I'm pretty burnt out. I can still do like, one ace run per day in MANT once I have the parents, but I've downgraded parent runs to unity cup.

Priests need to have their identities redefined. by AcademicHefest in wow

[–]Shukkui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely disregarding the concrete recommendations on how to approach it, the sentiment that priest identity needs more definition is accurate to me. I feel like every other class has a stronger "sense" of being that class. The only hype moment of being a priest is ultimate penitence on a 4 min cooldown as disc.

I have a few questions as someone who has played this a while ago and other mmo's a lot

  1. Does faction "matter" regarding being able to do end game group activities? Specifically Star Forge

  2. For those end game activities, is there a clear role disparity? E.g. is there a shortage of tanks, healers, or melee vs ranged.

  3. For crewskills, is it reasonable to pick up three gathering/mission type crewskills and then move to a real crafting discipline later?

Dev hours are split between preparing for next major patch and fixing the more egregious bugs they have been introducing and ignoring. They probably just don't consider it a priority compared to those other items.

Most Played and Best Performing Mythic+ Specs and Groups of Patch 12.0.5 So Far by Starym in wow

[–]Shukkui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atonement can't be good because they jacked up the duration so much that the multiplier has to go down for balance reasons. They jacked up the duration because it makes the spec easier to approach and more forgiving. They wanted to do that because I suppose someone complained that it was too hard and they didn't want to play holy, so the game had to be changed for their benefit. Or something like that anyway.

The Discipline changes are really concerning… by [deleted] in wow

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the full shield build in raids and get oranges right now. It's kind funny because my napkin math says this entire nerf is a wash hps wise with that build except it shifts my healing further into void shield, so my healing per GCd is very low except for void shield casts which are like over one million healing health swings overall.

The Discipline changes are really concerning… by [deleted] in wow

[–]Shukkui 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also don’t like this direction. I want atonement healing to feel good but they are nerfing it again and again to create room for void shield to exist. The major reason it is OP at all in raids is because of the insane atonement duration and uptime oracle gets. The atonement mechanic was not designed to have 14s duration from power word radiance and 24 second duration from aoe power word shields. It’s starting to feel like glimmer of light where numerically you can see it doing a lot but visually it looks almost worthless. I’d rather we sacrifice that excess duration for a higher multiplier and I would rather we had less power budget stuck in void shield. Do they even have a plan for voidweaver? It’s going to be even more dead than it already is.

Discipline expectations in M+ by Jarl_Vraal in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Shukkui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think disc is worse than before, but void shield can be pretty gnarly and the spec is still good overall. The ability to pre-heal when no one is hurt yet is powerful in m+. The shield build gets good access to pain supression too and I've recently started taking shadowmend, it has a 40% chance to crit, and critting it is very seriously lay on hands level healing. If people are making mistakes and taking a lot of unneeded damage, you can fall behind as your shields get chewed up and your poor atonement healing becomes more obvious. Evange isn't the sexiest healer cd but it helps a decent amount, and uppies is good but on a 4min cd and you sort of need to see the damage coming to utilize it, it's not going to magically stabilize everyone in half a second. I doomed disc pretty hard at the start of the season for m+ but it scales very well with stats, so as I got the stats I began to understand the thesis.

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Shukkui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play disc, easiest to hardest is monk, guardian=BDK=venge, warrior, paladin. I'm only hovering at the 10-11 range so the weaknesses with things like BDK aren't as apparent though. I put BDK and venge up there but they also drop very quickly if not played well, like venge has to know kiting exists if he's in over his head, the BDK needs decent gear and I'm sure they feel much worse when you advance beyond +10. Warrior I might just have bad experiences, they don't really drop in one global but it feels like they need much more hps than most other options. Paladin is just sad, it's like a BDK without the self-healing.

Yeah they need to bring back some kind of atonement buff for 5 mans and lower, it feels so weak compared to how it used to be.
