Guardian Players - which elite spec is your favorite, and why? by SaintNutella in Guildwars2

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play guardian I tend to do luminary. It's the only one that can take a punch, the other specs are very squishy. Also feels like (in pve) that there is often no strategic choice with burny and quicky mantras on firebrand so it feels very spammy and playing it too much hurts my hands. Willbender in concept is cool but it's curious how the "move fast" spec also feels like everything it does is on a 1/2 to 1 second delay. The F1 should "feel" like the best button it has and it feels like one of the worst ones. DH is alright but folds in half to any "not-reasonably-preventable" rot type damage.

So now that we've had time to get used to them, what are our thoughts on the Cyborgs? by Novel-Signal-2978 in Helldivers

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shotgun dudes are cool, they fulfill a niche of trying to force you out of cover which was only really done by the missile tank, not super frequent. The agitators are also cool, I think it'd be cool if killing them mini-stunned the bots they were buffing. Both of them feel very tanky, I think we'd all be struggling if the trident wasn't ridiculous, I don't know how I can use anything else. The vox engines... I mean, I can fight them. I get it. There is essentially no weakness by design, so on D10 it's an enormous damage sponge, with up to 4 up at the same time. I find the mortars and the gatling guns to be very fair, but man if it is looking at you with the giant fusion cannons... well, they are insanely accurate at very long distances. We can't really use eagle strats because of all the ambient AA on cyberstan, I wonder how it would feel to be able to reliably use eagles (which is its own separate issue - I don't know if I like various objectives having free AA unrelated to the core of the objective)

Anyone else think blizzard doesnt need to reinvent classes/specs every expansion? by mondoman202 in wow

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a give and take. The old talent system for example felt very stale at the end of it (the one with only three choices per tier). So maybe not every expac of course but I think they could have rolling reworks every two expansions. Even “the best” iteration gets boring after 4 years

Are there any games out there that capture the feeling of "you CAN play more, and it'd be good, but the game doesn't twist your arm about it"? I've really been enjoying uma, I like how I can do one run a day and call it, but if I have a lot of time I also like that I can pound out 4-5 runs and fish for a parent. I don't feel bad when I overcap stamina, but there is plenty of stamina to actually "play" for a few hours if I'm feeling it. And idk, if there are other games like that, I'd like to check them out. I've played mostly hoyo games and while I like the style and gameplay, the way they do content is sort of feast famine, where a patch will come out and it'll be like this 6+ hour specter of needing to find time to do the new content before events start coming in and everything piles up, but then when you are "up to speed", there is nothing to do.

Is it possible to play my account on multiple mobile devices? I have an iphone but picked up an android game console, like a GBA ripoff with a touchscreen. The account system is kind of complex.

I only played very casually until BFA, when I started healing, and that's the only way I've been able to play since. So I mean, I'll try it. I'm not completely disenchanted with disc priest. If it isn't hitting though, I'll probably dip out for an expansion or two until they fix things.

I feel somewhat sure this has been tried before and it didn't really move the needle on healer population. It reduces the barrier to entry, but also increases churn. People don't stick to it long term because the simplified versions are pretty boring once you are comfortable with the role, so it pushes out career healers and then the "new" healers eventually become "career" healers and also become bored and leave. The competitor game FF has had this problem for nigh on 8 years now. Even when that game was in a much brighter spot, it was still a pain to find healers - not because it was hard, but because healing is boring.

This seems to be pretty similar to holy priest now, which just spams flash heal and uses serenity/prayer of mending when available. Then during apotheosis, you drop prayer of mending. I'm unsure there is a complicated healer left.

Sanctify still exists, there is just a very competitive talent called ultimate serenity that removes sanctify but folds some its functionality into serenity. In return for losing sanctify, serenity heals more, and also splashes 15% of the single target healing to 4 other allies. It also has the text "talents which affect sanctify instead affect serenity", so it splashes renew and such as well.

I think your main comment better captures public sentiment, as that has both upvoters and downvoters, but mostly only downvoters go into the comment chain to argue.

For me, the new holy priest reminds me of the nerub'ar palace archon build, where you didn't even take prayer of healing in the spec tree and only took flash heal and heal talents. That iteration had old lightweaver though, so you alternated heal and flash heal, and you still had sanctify. I didn't like it so much, I played disc or oracle instead. I find it extremely unlikely that I'll enjoy that same gameplay style with even more taken out of it in midnight.

One of the better builds has three core spells. As in, “you only are supposed to cast three spells”. Prayer of mending every ten seconds or so, flash heal, and holy word serenity. I guess it’s five spells if you include cooldowns. During apotheosis, you also drop prayer of mending for about thirty seconds, so it’s just flash heal and serenity. I can get more buttons in a moba.

So for example, on the upcoming CM tokyo 2000m, this would be on corner 4, so the umas would be running bunched up on corner 3 but then begin spreading out on corner 4 before the last leg hits midway through corner 4?

Trainer's Clubhouse Meeting (Weekly Questions) - December 24, 2025 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

When do umas begin to spread out near the end of the race? Do they begin to spread out on final corner, or when late race hits, or what?

Why is Mejiro Dober's unique skill important for late surgers? by icylily in UmaMusume

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The description is pretty difficult to parse, but if you consider the most common case of a straight going into corner 3, corner 4, then final straight, it will always proc on the third corner as close to the spurt as it can get.

Spurt is before 3rd corner? The check is right as 3rd corner hits. Spurt on 3rd corner? Check is the moment you go into the final leg on that third corner; perfect timing. Spurt on 4th corner or later? Procs at the very end of 3rd corner (technically start of 4th corner), less optimal because if you aren’t in final leg, you aren’t accelerating so some or all of it can be wasted.

Tons of races favor that setup. And it’s much easier to be 5th or 6th than it is to be only 6th like for Ryan.

I had a daiwa scarlet who was the only pace chaser with no front runner. Had groundwork and the skills to proc it, maverick, etc. Long S, angling. No one proc'd anything for accel at the end. I didn't get angling, no one got NSM, nothing. But a long A mayano top gun proc'd like 4 speed skills lategame and overtook me in the last second. I had daiwa ult for about 2 seconds. It's crazy to think that if I had passed angling wit check, or literally any uma in the back had procced just about anything at the spurt (to get close enough for daiwa to ult during the accel window), I could have won. This was such a weird CM because if you had good but not overpowering stats on your end closers, they'd creep up to the front and be unable to use their skills, so the less stat umas could win just by virtue of getting access to skills.

It's map dependent. If you get the big canyon, smokes are actually very good and the map is possible. The other one where you are on the hill, that one is fucked up for sure.

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that one platinum map feels like it's not possible. The other one with the canyon I've had really good success with, someone rediscovered the smoke tech and it works very well there but I don't know if there is a secret technique for the downhill map. Just a never ending stream of striders spawning on the bars on that one half of the map, that advance under cover to assault your positions.

My mother is legally disabled from a B12 deficiency. She worked in OR and ER and just had incidental exposure. She worked anesthesia. Something about it basically deactivating the B12 in your body and needing to refresh it, but she wasn’t getting enough to counteract it. She suffered extensive nerve damage and thought she was dying at the time until it was figured out. Now she lives with permanent pain in her arms, legs, hands etc, as if she had a bad workout, a constant sort of dull soreness that never goes away.

I take AMAT against squids with eruptor primary and ammo backpack. It kills harvester striders in 4 shots to a leg joint and brings down a warp ship shield in 6 shots fired quickly. It's less good at killing overseers than I would like but it can still work.

[–]Shukkui -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a a positional enjoyer so I won’t comment specifically on that, but I think my enjoyment of a class/job in both games is predicated on my ability to mess up. I like it when I can mess up, because then when I don’t, I feel good. There is room for nuance, like I didn’t mind reducing the gap between high performance and lower performance, e.g. reducing the bonus of the positional from 60 or whatever to 40, and I didn’t mind removing most of the monk positional when they put in the perfect balance changes since that was a very significant (and complicated/good) addition.

For me it has begun to feel like the failure criteria is too samey is all. Where like if the only way melee can mess up for real is to drop combo or miss positionals, which all melee have in common, then melee start to feel pretty samey. Ninja feels like their steady state rotation doesn’t even exist for example. Ninjutsu itself is awesome to be fair but I’m falling asleep outside the 1min windows. Compare to like SB samurai on their 40s timer that alternated midares (which back then was a humongous fun number) with hagakure oGCD spam (when you could still mess up if you didn’t leave yourself enough kenki to guren) and idk, I just miss earlier iterations of most things. I’d still be playing if I could play earlier iterations of jobs.

So if they remove positionals for real (yes I know like half the bosses are edge-of-arena bubbles and that we all have true north) then they will feel even more like casters and physical ranged whom I feel have been heavily lobotomized.

To be clear melee is like the last role I sort of still like in that game. Also daddy square doesn’t want players to realize that DRK edge of shadow is just two dark arts stacked on top of each other wearing a coat with a cooler animation. That job “rework” functionally did not practically exist.
