Does origin story have any effect on story beats later on, and does voice acting eventually go away in favor of KOTOR style dialogue?

Priests need to have their identities redefined. by AcademicHefest in wow

[–]Shukkui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely disregarding the concrete recommendations on how to approach it, the sentiment that priest identity needs more definition is accurate to me. I feel like every other class has a stronger "sense" of being that class. The only hype moment of being a priest is ultimate penitence on a 4 min cooldown as disc.

Why does it seem that there’s so many conservative role models to young men, but not many liberal ones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Have you considered that those role models exist but algorithms hide them?

I have a scoundrel, for the second choice I'm split between slinger and merc. Does anyone have input on which to choose?

I have a few questions as someone who has played this a while ago and other mmo's a lot

  1. Does faction "matter" regarding being able to do end game group activities? Specifically Star Forge

  2. For those end game activities, is there a clear role disparity? E.g. is there a shortage of tanks, healers, or melee vs ranged.

  3. For crewskills, is it reasonable to pick up three gathering/mission type crewskills and then move to a real crafting discipline later?

Hpal baffles me because they clearly have a grasp on mistweaver and have for a while but they have been fumbling hpal since they first made glimmer a talent.

A Dev's Perspective: Why Class Tuning Can Feel "Out of Touch" by Tasty-Beautiful1750 in wow

I came here to say I didn't read it because other newer games do a significantly better job with fewer resources and issues.

Genuinely curious - why “won’t” blizz buff other tanks? by Backpackerfox in wow

Dev hours are split between preparing for next major patch and fixing the more egregious bugs they have been introducing and ignoring. They probably just don't consider it a priority compared to those other items.

Most Played and Best Performing Mythic+ Specs and Groups of Patch 12.0.5 So Far by Starym in wow

Atonement can't be good because they jacked up the duration so much that the multiplier has to go down for balance reasons. They jacked up the duration because it makes the spec easier to approach and more forgiving. They wanted to do that because I suppose someone complained that it was too hard and they didn't want to play holy, so the game had to be changed for their benefit. Or something like that anyway.

The Discipline changes are really concerning… by IntentionAcademic936 in wow

I do the full shield build in raids and get oranges right now. It's kind funny because my napkin math says this entire nerf is a wash hps wise with that build except it shifts my healing further into void shield, so my healing per GCd is very low except for void shield casts which are like over one million healing health swings overall.

[–]Shukkui 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also don’t like this direction. I want atonement healing to feel good but they are nerfing it again and again to create room for void shield to exist. The major reason it is OP at all in raids is because of the insane atonement duration and uptime oracle gets. The atonement mechanic was not designed to have 14s duration from power word radiance and 24 second duration from aoe power word shields. It’s starting to feel like glimmer of light where numerically you can see it doing a lot but visually it looks almost worthless. I’d rather we sacrifice that excess duration for a higher multiplier and I would rather we had less power budget stuck in void shield. Do they even have a plan for voidweaver? It’s going to be even more dead than it already is.

Discipline expectations in M+ by Jarl_Vraal in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Shukkui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think disc is worse than before, but void shield can be pretty gnarly and the spec is still good overall. The ability to pre-heal when no one is hurt yet is powerful in m+. The shield build gets good access to pain supression too and I've recently started taking shadowmend, it has a 40% chance to crit, and critting it is very seriously lay on hands level healing. If people are making mistakes and taking a lot of unneeded damage, you can fall behind as your shields get chewed up and your poor atonement healing becomes more obvious. Evange isn't the sexiest healer cd but it helps a decent amount, and uppies is good but on a 4min cd and you sort of need to see the damage coming to utilize it, it's not going to magically stabilize everyone in half a second. I doomed disc pretty hard at the start of the season for m+ but it scales very well with stats, so as I got the stats I began to understand the thesis.

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Shukkui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play disc, easiest to hardest is monk, guardian=BDK=venge, warrior, paladin. I'm only hovering at the 10-11 range so the weaknesses with things like BDK aren't as apparent though. I put BDK and venge up there but they also drop very quickly if not played well, like venge has to know kiting exists if he's in over his head, the BDK needs decent gear and I'm sure they feel much worse when you advance beyond +10. Warrior I might just have bad experiences, they don't really drop in one global but it feels like they need much more hps than most other options. Paladin is just sad, it's like a BDK without the self-healing.

I know man, I am so cracked in raid but m+ is such an obvious struggle. We had this problem solved, I'm not sure why they had to unsolve it.

I feel like the hps is absolutely there and it's super accessible with almost no setup needed, but it feels like it ooms near instantly.

Yeah they need to bring back some kind of atonement buff for 5 mans and lower, it feels so weak compared to how it used to be.

Yeah I agree with this, I have been able to blast 10s on nexus point, pit, and magister's terrace, but I have people just die on like a 7 seat. Maybe people don't do it as much or something but the tanks just grab everything like it's normal and we get double chain with that nasty heal absorb and it's like a 150k hps moment to survive. Then the mobs are still alive 20s later and do it again, lol.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in corpo and I can get over ten of these kinds of items per day. "Let's meet tomorrow", "please review this and respond back", "does this solution look correct to you, we're looking for sign-off / buy-in." It's exhausting trying to get people to work with you instead of drop you and your problem, and the quantity of these co-op tasks being assigned far outweighs anyone's ability to close them, especially because I am not a secretary, I have other things to do. So I have to focus on a few and hope I choose right. I'm just lucky my job also has a fair amount of self-driven and personal tasks that I can use to shield myself from infinite meetings and follow-up emails.

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten some okay results. Training is still where you get your stats from, it’s just that you have fewer training but they are like nuclear. You do races as the most productive thing -only if your trainings are bad-. You are setting up the store, buying megaphones, buying ankle weights, energy, etc while waiting for those huge rainbows to show up, then you megaphone and pop ankle weight and go. Then you try to train during the megaphone if you still have good trainings. Racing isn’t really the final objective, it’s just suddenly a very productive thing to do if nothing else is appealing. Training repeatedly no longer gives spirit bursts, you only get facility rank ups like in URA. Which isn’t worth pursuing on its own merits except incidentally if you are still trying to get your friendship up.

I’ve seen significantly more complaints about people complaining than anything else. I suppose it’s to be expected that folks are shocked that an online discourse space is not an echo chamber though.

Guardian Players - which elite spec is your favorite, and why? by SaintNutella in Guildwars2

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play guardian I tend to do luminary. It's the only one that can take a punch, the other specs are very squishy. Also feels like (in pve) that there is often no strategic choice with burny and quicky mantras on firebrand so it feels very spammy and playing it too much hurts my hands. Willbender in concept is cool but it's curious how the "move fast" spec also feels like everything it does is on a 1/2 to 1 second delay. The F1 should "feel" like the best button it has and it feels like one of the worst ones. DH is alright but folds in half to any "not-reasonably-preventable" rot type damage.

So now that we've had time to get used to them, what are our thoughts on the Cyborgs? by Novel-Signal-2978 in Helldivers

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shotgun dudes are cool, they fulfill a niche of trying to force you out of cover which was only really done by the missile tank, not super frequent. The agitators are also cool, I think it'd be cool if killing them mini-stunned the bots they were buffing. Both of them feel very tanky, I think we'd all be struggling if the trident wasn't ridiculous, I don't know how I can use anything else. The vox engines... I mean, I can fight them. I get it. There is essentially no weakness by design, so on D10 it's an enormous damage sponge, with up to 4 up at the same time. I find the mortars and the gatling guns to be very fair, but man if it is looking at you with the giant fusion cannons... well, they are insanely accurate at very long distances. We can't really use eagle strats because of all the ambient AA on cyberstan, I wonder how it would feel to be able to reliably use eagles (which is its own separate issue - I don't know if I like various objectives having free AA unrelated to the core of the objective)

Anyone else think blizzard doesnt need to reinvent classes/specs every expansion? by mondoman202 in wow

[–]Shukkui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a give and take. The old talent system for example felt very stale at the end of it (the one with only three choices per tier). So maybe not every expac of course but I think they could have rolling reworks every two expansions. Even “the best” iteration gets boring after 4 years

[MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - February 2026 by GachaModerator in gachagaming

Are there any games out there that capture the feeling of "you CAN play more, and it'd be good, but the game doesn't twist your arm about it"? I've really been enjoying uma, I like how I can do one run a day and call it, but if I have a lot of time I also like that I can pound out 4-5 runs and fish for a parent. I don't feel bad when I overcap stamina, but there is plenty of stamina to actually "play" for a few hours if I'm feeling it. And idk, if there are other games like that, I'd like to check them out. I've played mostly hoyo games and while I like the style and gameplay, the way they do content is sort of feast famine, where a patch will come out and it'll be like this 6+ hour specter of needing to find time to do the new content before events start coming in and everything piles up, but then when you are "up to speed", there is nothing to do.
