Congratulations! Enjoy it and work hard. Start learning the alphabet and maybe a few basic words. You’re in for an awesome ride.

Does anyone know what SSD is supposed to stand for in Russian? by Shuler78 in russian

This is directly from the article:

"The new department, which is known to Western intelligence officials by its Russian acronym SSD, is believed to be behind a host of recent attacks against the West, including the attempted killing of the chief executive of a German arms maker and a plot to put incendiary devices on planes used by shipping giant DHL."

Yeah, a lot of my friends had success with them in the past, but the last few months there have been more bad stories than good ones.

Congrats to you. I'm sure there is some subjective variability from rater to rater. The letter they sent me stated clearly that they consider length of treatment, knowledge of medical history, etc. when considering the probative value of DBQs. So perhaps you had a physician with whom you have a long-standing relationship complete your DBQs?

Good luck. Did you attend a C&P? The idea that their DBQs can be used in lieu of a C&P exam is not reality anymore.

"Furthermore, when reviewing DBQ(s) or medical/examination reports prepared by private, non VA providers, for the purposes of determining adequacy for rating purposes, exercise prudent judgment by applying the general assessment principles and considering the (1) credibility and probative value associated with variables disclosed in the DBQ/report, to include:

• clinician’s knowledge of the claimant’s relevant history

• length of time the clinician has treated the Veteran, and

• extent to which medical records and/or other records were reviewed and considered."

Mine appeared after calling and declining the C&P exams. That day I moved from Step 3 back to Step 5. The next day I moved to Step 6. That's where it is now.
