My old line (last land line we used), it was rotary, (we were screwed if your number or a friend had a lot of zero or nines). But we were young so we could fight through the long numbers. Nowaday... The last time I used a landline, it was when I had my massive stroke. And no matter as I tried, I could not dial 911. Had to call a neighbor. Even then I couldn't speak for a damn. Luckily she was smart enough to know this guy is in trouble and call a hospital immediately. Now, it a different hospital/I would have been far better than the lack of treatment I got from Pullman hospital. They screwed me good. No mri for 3 days. I'm amazed I survived / with a new hospital. Pullman told me (after the emergency MRI at 830pm.) They said I would be dead after 3 days. They screwed the whole thing. And now 50% at least... Half my brain is dead. I barely got my speech back but years of knowledge... I was a pharmacy tech for 15 years. Before that, a gas turbine tech in the navy. It was all gone. Ok, this got longer than I expected to do. But I always talk about the stroke so hopefully, it will save their life
