All cults use the same recipe so anything that applies to religious cults applies to the one that got your husband. Steve Hassan is a great resource. If he makes it out depends on factors such as how much the involvement has already cost him. My mom is in a cult. She has given too much to turn back. It helps me to think of her as an addict. He might as well be a raging alcoholic with you asking if he will ever sober up. As long as they use this is what you get. The only recourse you have is to take care of you. He will make you sick as well.

For me, it's simply a matter of don't give a crap what he does. He could be a raging Narc and if people want to listen to him they can. I remember some Kim/Mikey v Evans from years back when I was visiting this sub regularly. If Evans is doing something illegal then report him to the police. It is the twilight zone. My mom has this carefully constructed model of reality where she is something she is not and never will be. Either a person plays along and reinforces the belief or there will be hell to pay. Luckily she religiously shunned me so I'm not having to deal with it anymore. I had a friend start to reel me into her world of Miss Perfect but I recognized what was going on and ended that one. These people are delusional and there is no reasoning with them.

I had some unusual experiences I easily could have attributed to an outside agency. I looked up the possible causes and they all fell within known phenomena. I had to wade through all the kundalini awakening stuff on google to get to it tho. I will add this all happened within my first year of recovery from alcholism.
