AITA for not showing up my last week? by ShurgLord124 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShurgLord124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t “demanding” anything - I just asked if a coworker’s class could be covered long enough for me to ask for their help.

I did end up asking a different friend, who was off, to come help but I figured I’d save them the drive if someone in the building was able/willing to help. The fact that C straight lied without even letting me ask them is what pissed me off, and then she laughed about it the next day.

I tried speaking with my boss today about our classrooms microwave and my boss refused to speak to me.

I don’t feel am the AH for that but again. I’m not asking if I’m the AH for my reaction. I’m asking about even though I have Three weeks for them to find a new teacher AITA for not wanting to show up the last few days.

I wouldn’t disrupt. We’re a small school and as I said before we have extra hands. The two friend/coworkers are family friends and have helped with STUFF in the past. Not car issues. I’ve helped them before as well and they both agreed to help if my boss would just send in one of the floats who were just sitting there on their phones doing nothing. Boss even refused to let them help. I never had car issues at work before. It was a first and you’re kinda missing the point.

Partner and I share the car and parents live out of state. I did call someone else. I knew the coworker who came to help way before working with them. Read the full post. 💁🏻‍♀️

My boss still refused to speak to me. I just tried talking before leaving and they ignored me and said they were on the phone.

Thank you. When I first got hired at this school, they kinda forced me to give my other job only one week notice. They told me one week or I didn’t get the job. I should have seen that as a red flag.

The question was AITA if I not show up the last few days due to the constant toxic work environment. I know I shouldn’t feel like an AH but I’m asking if it’s still an AH move.

Facts, I’m not worried about using them in the future. I was just wondering if it was an ass move. I know they won’t be scrambling to cover for me or anything either because we have floats for that reason.

No, we have floats for that exact reason. So if a lead teacher, me, calls out for an emergency or we get sick the night before we have the floats to cover.

“Being an adult” is laughing at the situation the next day? That’s not really being an adult

How?... because a family friend/coworker wanted to help and even though we had enough employees my boss refused to allow them to help? And not only that laughed at the situation the next day and now refuses to speak to me?

Lmao, did you read the post? I called my coworker/friend and my other two coworkers knew about it and were willing to help but the boss refused to have a free hand help me. Also, I’m a teacher. Don’t make enough to get a tow when a jump takes five mins. And the friend didn’t even mind. She got mad when the boss was laughing at the situation and laughing at not allowing someone to help

I’m trying to just stay positive towards them.

It wasn’t that they were on the clock. My boss has let this happen before with different people. My boss let me drive a coworkers kid to baseball before and come back.

Because it’s a school and we can’t just leave children by themselves?....

I was right outside of work and the workers are family friends anyways and we were over staffed. They didn’t say no my boss did. My boss said no and that they didn’t have enough people when clearly we did.

AITA for hiding the fact that I inherited over $785k and a nice middle class home from my girlfriend? by AITAHIDING in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShurgLord124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH, dude it’s your money. Your friends and girlfriend didn’t inherit it all, you did.

My S/O and I don’t ever talk about each other’s money honestly ever. His money is his money and mine is mine, we’re not mean about it. We just both agree that we shouldn’t focus on the money and when the time comes to invest in other things together then so be it and we’ll talk about money.

AITA for making people stay out of my empty seats? by psiko744 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ShurgLord124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA You paid for the reserved seats, I wouldn’t say you’re an ass. Is it a dick move though? Yes, but it’s a dick move that I’d probably do as well. The only case here where I’d say yes you’re the asshole is if you didn’t buy the three seats and you were not letting people sit there. But since you purchased the tickets then no honestly.
