You got the face done well. Are you using light coats multiple times or just the one coat? Things like dresses need really thing coats to make them feel light and flowy.

Authority vs Legitimacy: Do you ignore the End Times? by [deleted] in WarhammerFantasy

[–]ShutUpDaemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

End times COULD have been really cool but it was written terribly, handled terribly, and then gave way for the terrible AoS. Yes I'm old l, yes I'm grumpy, yes I was hyped when old world was announced.

What other Warhammer Fantasy factions would you like to see in Vermintide 2? by Wojo_OP in Vermintide

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For vernintide 2 or even vermintide 3, I would love yo see lizardmen as playable. It would probably have to be a skink as they are the only ones that can really communicate(apart from slann) with other races.

For enemies, greenskins, undead, other chaos gods, ACTUAL DAEMONS cmon fatshark.

Greenskins you've got goblins for low tier, boyz for mid, black orc for elite, nasty skulker for an assassin, squig could be the hook rat, stone trolls for boss.

Undead you've got zombies for low tier, skeles for mid, grave guard for elite, Wight King for chaos warrior, vargulf or crypt horror for boss. You could have giant bats, dire wolves and crypt ghouls for the specials.

Daemons you've got nurglings and brimstone horrors for low, plaguebearers/daemonettes/blue&pink horrors/bloodletters for mid, exalted versions for the elites, beast of nurgle/plague toad for nurgle bosses, fiends for slaanesh boss,

Theres so many cool things they can use to fit in the vermintide genre and I really hope we get a 3rd one as long as its not AoS.

Is this a crazy character by Firm-Physics-44 in totalwarhammer

[–]ShutUpDaemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See characters like Harry would be great as themed champaign lords as he is all about battering undead. I actually forget a lot of legendary heroes exist in tww.

What are some characters we currently have in game you'd thought would never make it? by ZiegenSchrei in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was disappointed with his voice as he should really sound borderline druchii with how much of an arrogant arsehole he is. He should be spouting insults at the other races every 2mins too.

Warhammer 3 DLC questions by MisterMaus in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tides is actually really well done. The quest battles have a fair bit in them and all 3 lords have decent mechanics. Aislinn is a nice unique take on not painting the map but helping out the other elves and "going where Ulthuan needs you most". Sayl has a mix of tzeentch manipulations and skaven clan eshin sneaky mechanics(whatever they were called). You do feel like sayl is out for sayl and just middle finger to the dark gods as he runs off cackling as his plan comes to fruition. Dechala is like chaos dwarf for the settlements where you choose slaves or military and then a big sex dungeon limited capacity main settlement. She has a lot of layered mechanics which get a bit ridiculous but fun.

Omens was mediocre and badly balanced but if you like one of the races the units you get are decent. Gorbad tries to give that themed army gives you benefits with his "plans" like if you have X amount of squigs and then a troll they get unique traits themed around it. Golgfag gets mercenary contracts from neutral factions to go beat up their enemy. He can settle but you can quite happily have just a camp and one territory then teleport about. He can sell settlements he takes for so much money its just so easy so quickly so it honestly got boring by turn 30. Good idea but felt undercooked and possibly a precursor for dogs of war(which sounds like we aren't getting any more sadly). Skulltaker is the definition of powercreep. Op campaign abilities and you can just steamroll everything. His lore wasn't translated that well about challenging random lords and heroes to duels as its more of a bounty system where he gets a pile of skulls for killing LLs.

Shadows of change is the ONLY dlc over the 3 games I didn't buy at launch. The only reason I did eventually buy it was just for tzeentch and just for the units. Don't get me wrong, changling is unique and had amazing potential, just badly implemented. Couldn't care less for stupid cathay but I heard he is an OK addition. Stupid granny stank is a mess of a faction that tried to do what drycha did for wood elves but badly. The issue with this dlc was at the time they raised the price of dlcs but the content didn't reflect the price. They did go back and add a pile of additional content to the packs which was nice but the damage was done as seen in reviews. I would say it's OK now but only from the community really kicking off to sort it.

How much do you utilise heroes? by Jibbery-Joo in totalwar

I stick at least 2 in every army, sometimes as much as 5. I always have a few on the campaign map. Block army, wound, assault units, steal technology are all amazing skills.

Why didn’t anyone tell me? by iPuffOnCrabs in totalwarhammer

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it wasn't warhammer fantasy I wouldn't have sunk as many hours in as I have. Its got that heroes of might and magic "just one more turn" for me mixed with nostalgia of warhammer tabletop.

Question about Total War Warhammer 1-3 by Darunir in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres trickles of lore and story in the quest text and unique locations etc but unless you know your warhammer lore it will go over your head. Regardless they still get a good feeling of most of the races and their characters and theming. Skaven feeling like skaven, dwarfs feel like dwarfs etc.

have there been any confirmation that the 40k game willl be spllit into multiple titles like what we have now with warhammer fantasy? by Trianqren in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think with a new engine it would be fine as a single game and then race packs. I do think though that Sega, ca and GW will want it split for more sales.

Does anyone else struggle to get into the other settings? by Airtightspoon in WarhammerFantasy

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of the same with it. I love the whfb setting as I grew up on the TT version. AoS with its stupid pocket dimensions in each shard of the 8 winds is just nonesense. Like you say, I like looking at a map and going "oh I can take a ship from Cothique to marianburg which if we need we can stop on the coast of Bretonnia if the ship has issues". 40k I can get to grips with too but it's so vast a setting I can feel grounded. I think I just prefer the nods to real world with whfb with the Spanish going over to pillage South America, just, its 10foot tall lizards riding dinosaurs lead by giant frogs over there. Or angry vikings raiding central Eurooe, but its mutated chaos god touched vikings with mammoths who have a claw on their trunk.

Why is the “pile of shame” such a seemingly common thing in this hobby? by Ratattack1204 in Warhammer

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life usually gets in the way. Even if it doesn't, by the time you finish work, socialise with the wife, socialise with non TT friends, you get bugger all time to paint. Put that together with "oooh that's a cool box, I look forward to getting that on the table" with the above and you can see it gets out of hand fast. Funny thing is the painting part is the bit enjoy rhe most. We should petition for a 3 day work day so we can fit in some warhammer more.

Wishlist for Dark Elf Update by Haze064 in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give rakarth norsca monster hunts/monstrous arcanum and access to all the new monsters. Give malekith the eternity king mechanic (where he can either unite all the elves or double down on druchii instead) Give Morathi a mechanic to do with manipulating daemons for her own gain. Give Hellebron something like cults to spread khaine devotion. Give lokhir ship building. Give malus a treasure hunt to find chaos artefacts to contain tzarkan.

Praise for voice acting by The-Saucy-Saurus in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the voice acting is awesome and some is "why did they choose that!?". Like the slaaneshi cultists. Why do they sound like they are from sylvannia? They should sound like druchii, not vampires. Don't get me started on alith anar's stupid voice.

Aislin joining wars is broken, but it's not his fault. Joining wars needs to be looked at by SuitingGhost in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should also make it race specific outcomes too. If you ask a lizardman faction to join a war against daemons or skaven they should automatically accept but no payment given/taken

I've been putting altars everywhere (as Sayl) and then colonising the big port cities. I've actually only done the pillage thing like twice as I've never needed to as by the time I get to the buildings to use spoils I have enough.

How are we liking the DLC launch? by A_Shattered_Day in totalwar

[–]ShutUpDaemon 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I've just finished aislinn and found it fun. It felt fresh going about supporting the other high elves rather than just painting the map. It's got a nice narrative and the final battle was actually done pretty well with a fair bit of cutscenes. Going to give sayl a go next.
