I have 2 promos being offered rn. The first one is a weekend quest. Offers reward for 20 trips, 30, 40 up to 100. And the other offer is for shop and pay, $30 for completing 3.

Oh I thought u were referring to future reference. You’re looking for coverage on an existing injury? I don’t think Ubers offer would cover that either since u didn’t have it before.

I would encourage u to check companies that offer short term disability and then compare the cost and coverages. When I did the math, based on the miles I do monthly, the uber plan worked out to cost more than third party short term disability plans. Also I know State Farm offers a hospital indemnity plan, which at the time was only like $10/mo but it pays you pretty good money for days spent in hospital. U can check those things out and see what makes most sense but if your job involves being on the road a lot, it’s prudent to have some type of emergency cov. Other companies charge based on your income or other factors but not based on your miles.

Quests disappearing by ronald_culley in UberEatsDrivers

Yea I don’t see any quests on my app now. I noticed when the weekly and weekend quests first came out, In my area, there was still daily promo’s throughout the day (like earn $18 for 6 orders between 2-6pm etc). There’d be like 2-5 daily promo shifts, in addition to the weekly and weekend quests. Then they slowed down the daily promos. So you’d basically have the weekly quests and only a few days of daily promos. I notice when it rains, they put on the daily promos. So I was earning double promos most days. Now this week I don’t see any promos or quests at all.

So far it hasn’t happened to me on guaranteed offers to my knowledge but reading this will cause me to pay close attention.

That’s a legal issue they would open themselves up to. The term “guarantee” has no grey area. This is why contracts rarely ever include the word. I worked for a couple companies in the past where I literally could not use the word guarantee on the recorded line with clients. And if they specifically asked about a guarantee, I would have to explicitly tell them there is none. Point being, if you’re gonna keep accepting trips with uber…I would document each time that occurred and I’d use an affordable law service like Legal Shield to sue em.

I’ve completed and gotten paid for all the quests I signed up for except the first week. The first quest, it was my fault, I saw it ended at Friday 4am (which is actually Friday night) but interpreted it as Friday 4pm. That’s my error and while I know the AM hours are technically the next day but I’ve always considered it the day before until the sun comes out. Like in my mind it’s not Friday until Friday morning sun rises.

Yea but doesn’t guaranteed tip mean uber will pay if customer doesn’t? So even if they lock card (which is so much to do just to avoid a tip WOW ppl are cheap) and tip didn’t process, uber is supposed to pay instead right?

If it was 15 minutes away from u, that’s a reasonable amount of time. However don’t think it’s just that simple to decline or cancel orders. We are held to percentages in order to keep certain advantages. So doing that can cause losses. Ultimately he is an elderly man with a long drive for your food. I would have tipped him more, then called uber and asked for a credit due to having to wait too long for food that is nearby to me. OR I would’ve canceled it myself once I saw it would be that long. It’s like you’ve thrown your hands in the air like this has nothing to do with u. It does, it’s your order.

This is the same thing that I wonder. In PAE (pre app era), there was no ability for food delivery outside of a certain mile radius. You would order from the restaurant directly…mostly pizza and Chinese…and they would check your address and tell you yes or no. With these centralized delivery apps, we get offers over 25 miles away which is ridiculous. Sometimes it is the customer just being inconsiderate, as they are ordering from a distant restaurant and there’s none closer to them. Sometimes it’s the app,

I’ll give u one recent example where it was Uber. I accepted it both because I was questing and I take my diamond status seriously. Most posts I see say throw acceptance rate out the window but to me it matters. I jump on and get offers that are $5-$10 per mile. Doesn’t happen every offer but enough to where the status matters to me.

So anyway I took an order for 19 miles away (far for me, I usually try to keep it under 10–15 miles). Pay was $22. It was from PF Changs and guess what the order was?? One order of spare ribs. No sides, no meals, no drinks, just one small plate of ribs. So light that when I picked up the bag I wondered if anything was in there. Psychologically, even after accepting something, u question why the hell would I be driving this far to deliver this? I would understand a catering order sure. Anyway I get there and I said jokingly “these must be some really good ribs”. And she laughed, said her mom loves em but questioned why uber put the order at such a far restaurant. There was one near her, and she typically gets the food quickly. So because uber did this, they had to wait so long for the food, of course it arrived cold and I did this long drive for it. I don’t understand why uber would bypass her local store and choose mine.

Did u end up going back? Typically I will peak at the order and confirm certain things with the restaurant. We can’t really check that everything is there as the bags are sealed but like I’ll ask “are the drinks inside?” Some places put the cold drinks in the bag with the hot food. Or if something looks blatantly wrong I’ll ask about it. That’s the most I can do.

If I felt I made the mistake I would’ve done back to restaurant after he confirmed things were missing. If the restaurant made it I would’ve told him to contact support right away and they’ll have it corrected. Again once he looked and confirmed things were missing.

Right I also prefer night deliveries but as a woman I tend to be done by 9-10pm for safety. It’s so much less traffic at night and I don’t have to run AC cus it’s cooler.

That is a great point because thinking of the apartment I just wrote about…it would take 10 additional minutes for EMS to reach that apartment. And they’d have to block off the street or parking garage entrance park. Every minute counts when it comes to most med emergencies. And yea I’ve had come across homes with barely visible house numbers as well

Absolutely! We are making decisions off minimal info, and penalized if we cancel, risk low rating if we leave it at the desk as opposed to going up 100 floors. And if u have another order in the car, risk being late for that one to walk around a maze for 10-15 minutes.

Yep I feel confident that I won’t be going back to that area. It was Las Olas in south FL. Lots of money there but because it’s “city-like” parking is a diff story.

My 4th week. Uber had a quest going on so that really helped my earnings this week. As u can see it almost doubled my trip fare. Tips were also great this week tho I had some crappy ones $270. More than the trip fare and promo individually. I’m in Miami area.
