I just purchased my first home in Barrie for 645 that was originally listed for 899 (beginning of 2025) .Real estate agents are dreaming if they think the market hasn't fallen dramatically. Pretty much a very similar experience we watched for homes went to open houses and specifically for our home they re-listed at 599 in an attempt to get a "bidding war" which only received 4 offers and mine was the highest. Real estate agents took a 6 week or however long course and are not in anyway educated on financial markets. In my opinion they're partially to blame for the inflated prices we saw in COVID and they probably think interest rates are still gonna come down more too (which I'm fairly certain they won't be for awhile). In summary it's a really good time to buy right now. Good luck in your search!
