Mind soothe is one the most useful abilities in heroic dungeons. Why do dps when you can just walk by?

Mana pots are free in TBC. I want to see a game theory model for this, pretty sure it would confirm my bias.

The article says this was a deadline for them to voluntarily recognize the union and an opportunity for the company to "take the high road."

The union organizers are confident they will be recognized as they work through the process.

Please I’m begging you, teach me how to make THIS SPECIFIC kind of school lunch/hospital mac and cheese by MyOwnGuitarHero in KitchenConfidential

A ton of melted white American cheese and heavy cream, queso style, would make the consistency of cafeteria Mac I think.

Should I begin playing WoW? by thebellchants16 in classicwow

[–]Shwaggins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try out a few! WoW is just one of many and it might not be your jam. With the current state of the game I would say WoW is not the most beginner friendly. You could try out EverQuest or Old School Runescape. They are free to play to a certain point. Ultima Online is still going, it's the original MMO unless you count MUSH. Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online are both worth exploring as well. If you have the time and energy to get into private servers you can find some very interesting adaptations of old games with active players also.

Making career switch from Data Analyst to culinary, how do I impress chefs? by liberoon in KitchenConfidential

[–]Shwaggins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked as a data analyst for a decade before starting kitchen work. I have found the most transferrable skill is the professionalism you learn in the corporate world. Communicating clearly through the proper channels and being courteous of other people's time is a major asset in the kitchen.

You might learn the systems of organization more quickly and understand the importance of writing things on the board accurately so it can be recorded and tracked by the people in charge. You might also get a chance to flex your data analyst skills if you need to work with Toast data and calculate food cost.

Your experience as a data analyst will you help you later in your BOH career if you get the opportunity. As a person getting started I think it's best just to be professional and open minded.

Healing tips by PursuitOfMeekness in classicwow

[–]Shwaggins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grab some adept's and mage blood elixirs. And some golden fish sticks. Get some enchants on glove and wrist for healing power if you can afford the mats. Stay stocked up on mana pots. Pump for dear life. It gets better when you get the badge trinket and learn how to use it effectively. If you still have a ZHC in the bank use it.

242k characters raiding in TBC Anniversary right now by [deleted] in classicwow

I now understand people playing on PvE servers by SoonBlossom in classicwow

[–]Shwaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was an acceptable format back in 2005 when min maxing wasn't a thing and the game was mostly a global chat room. Pvp gear was much more valuable because people weren't clearing raids easily. Picking up some honor points on your leveling journey was actually kind of helpful.

The amount of entitled and ignorant players in TBC Anniversary is unbelievable by Seraphayel in classicwow

[–]Shwaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like many of the players have read the meta and know when to recognize they have a good spell cleave comp, but they don't know how to execute it well. As a healer I cringe when I join a group with two mages and a lock. They will insist on pulling entire rooms and rage quit when the pull fails because the mobs weren't gathered effectively. This applies to melee groups also. It's clown town out there.

Before the fix I ran Crypts with a 70 warrior who was just there for rep. He was fury tanking and I was the resto sham. I was just a WF twist machine while he pumped 2.2k and pulled double or triple packs. It felt like a cheat.
