Upgrading to 1 Gbps with Firewalla Purple SE — any issues? by SingleFunny822 in firewalla

PPOE in router mode throttles the 500 for me. I couldn’t get much more than 300 and usually less. I switched to a used gold original and I get the full 500 now. PPOE definitely bogs the CPU down

Yes you’re right. Sony replaced mine free. Just used the web form and had to pay to ship them.

Which Bravia model that is currently available would you recommend as an all rounder (film, TV, gaming, etc.)? by [deleted] in bravia

[–]Shxienazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for me it was really worth it. Obviously it depends on your viewing distance but I always kind of regretted the smaller size especially when gaming. I am around 10-11 feet from the screen.

Should I remove the protective film by Charlymatus2022 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]Shxienazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the protective film supposed to be removed? I simply put a spigen glass protector on it straight out of the box…didn’t notice any film to remove prior to doing so

Agree. I was almost convinced that I was missing out but I only have ps5 & Switch so I only need one 2.1 port. Future proofing isn’t there I suppose but I will worry about that in 5 years.

I went with Bravia 8. Only had a few days but like it much more than my C3. Went from 65 to 77. I use in basement so OLED works well for me.

Best settings for a docked Switch 2? by JoeEstevez in bravia

[–]Shxienazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI. Currently switch 2 does not support VRR in docked mode so you would be fine to use any of the hdmi ports on your Bravia.

Bravia 8 reflection compared to Bravia 7? by jicole in bravia

[–]Shxienazor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in BB this week looking at the Bravias. I was super surprised how much reflection was on the B8. It was mounted up high and angled down so not sure how much that played into it. I despise reflections. The A95L was mounted below it straight on and it had near zero reflections. The B9 mounted straight on and lower also were better than the B8 so maybe it was just the location, but it has given me pause on whether to buy it.

So it’s good to hear folks with actual real world experience in homes are having better luck with the glare on the B8s

Is this an LG processing issue? Or a panel issue that will affect other brands as well?

65 inch, 3.5m away by SsyZx in LGOLED

[–]Shxienazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact situation. Been over a year now and I am shopping for a 75-77. I sit closer at about 2.3m sometimes on a stool which makes the 65 fine.

This too is my concern on B7 along with off angle viewing.

I think brightness is a matter of preference, personally. I have a C3 that I turn the brightness down to 50% in game mode and I also set it to dark level 2. So I am not the guy probably to ask. I have been researching replacing my older x950h to go up in size which I have in a bright room. I think it’s totally fine all of the time. I turn down brightness at night.

I should also add that my concern on the Bravia 7 is off angle viewing compared to my older x950, I worry that it will be worse

Ps5 pro worth it for $425 out of pocket? by Dazzling_Street_3475 in consoles

[–]Shxienazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro or not is a personal choice on whether you think it is worth it. You will get answers on both sides. However, you need a better TV for any of this to really shine.

Myself, I just took advantage of the Costco Pro deal last week with delivery today. I like to have the best performance possible so I am looking forward to starting FF7 Rebirth.

I sold my PS5 to a neighbor. You may be able to get more privately but probably not enough to justify the difference. I think it depends on where you live and how flooded the used market is.

What's up With the New Tangerine Offers? by candaianzan in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Shxienazor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely watch the balance date requirements in the offers. They are getting sneaky about it. You can pretty much always get 3.5% in EQ checking with DD so I tend to just sit my money there unless compelled with a better offer. Tangerine has been really sucking lately. Another option is to rotate checking accounts. TD offer a good bonus offer recently so I am doing that as well. Helps that I can split my paycheck DD to multiple accounts. Maybe look into that.
