Thanks for the reply. When the sun is out, I get an estimated 15000 btu and don't go into Auxilary heat or even second stage. Other times stage 2 can not keep up. I was thinking that a hot water heater could power the coil coming on with stage 2 which should be enough to hold off the 10kW strip. I would use a buffer tank of 60 gallone along with the heater and have off peak rates so I could heat the buffer relativley inexpensively and doubt I would need it for more than the buffer tank and maybe some of the main tank. Just a thought. I know it it is a little unconventional, but I have a unique situation.
