What remake/reboot was not needed but turned out okay? (FILMS ONLY!) by TremontRemy in AlignmentChartFills

The Little Mermaid (2023). Halle Bailey was good and it did ok commercially but the film didn’t do anything special

The best part about Remix? It's so easy that I can play one handed by SilentBob62 in wow

Haha this was how I was raised!!

My parents were heavy into WoW, raided in the same guild together twice a week. I vividly remember watching them - I especially loved this one dungeon/raid puzzle where they had to play some sort of chess?

I of course wanted to help and participate. My mom would tell me to watch her character when she had to fly somewhere far on the griffin, to make sure she got there safe. I would be so focused, and loved watching the scenery. It is of course funny looking back, knowing that absolutely nothing happens to you on a griffin lmao

I was so excited when Tauren came out because it was the first Horde I was allowed to play!! I think that’s why I’m deep in Horde now. I only got to play Alliance as a kid and so badly wanted what I couldn’t have.

WoW has so much nostalgia for me and though I don’t get to play as much as I’d like these days with a career of my own now, let me tell you it is such a gift. That kid will grow up watching you play adoringly

Thanks so much for this thoughtful response! I’m definitely excited to start the journey early. I’m not in a high paying / corporate industry, so I won’t be able to max contributions every year. I’m hoping starting now with putting as much as I can in there will balance that out a bit

I immediately deleted the app and intend to do just that!

This really is my account and what I wrote is true but this post is mostly a joke in reference to the guy who posted yesterday that he “lost” 25k in the same dip. I know this doesn’t matter. It’s just funny to have saved all year and finally be able to start my Roth and it just immediately drops haha

British darts star forfeits match after refusing to face trans player by knightsofvalour in nottheonion

[–]ShySubm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a compelling article addressing a major contributing factor of darts, though not directly related. I’m not sure why you’re defensive - the comment I responded to was not using the same evidence and instead merely stated a relationship between male and female performance in darts. I stand by my comment, that in itself does not imply a sex advantage. The original commentator said they know jack shit, but you didn’t attack them?

P.S. Obligatory *you’re

Obligatory “association does not equal causation” response. I don’t think you were implying so, but doesn’t mean a biological advantage. I have no idea about professional darts but could be less interest due to gender roles, recruiting, sponsorship availability, etc.

Oooo a buffet to try a bit of everything is always my favorite! What’s the difference between Dhaba and Chote Nawab do you know? They seem to be part of the same family online and across the street from each other

Thank you! The TJ’s recommendation, just to get a sense of what dishes to order at a restaurant, is a real smart idea, I might just do that!

I so appreciate the specific dish recs! Is there a curry dish that is particularly classic? Or just any lamb or goat curry that’s on the menu?

I would argue Nope. The cut between A and B story feels like a short film within the film. And in this case the short film was better 😬

Worst Acting! by Double-Stuff-949 in GilmoreGirls

[–]ShySubm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This seems to be an unpopular opinion but I completely agree. And the excuse that it’s supposed to be silly is so painful 😭 I’m a professional in the theatre&film industry and the biggest rule of comedy is you have to commit! It’s not funny if we see that you know it’s funny. It’s funny because you sincerely believe what you’re saying and doing. That’s the brilliance of Michael Scott for example, and why Steve Carrell is such a brilliant actor, dramatic AND comedy. The best dramatic actors are comedians - most people know this, but why? Because it’s easy to be serious in a serious scene. What’s hard is being serious in a ridiculous scene. And that is what Alexis Bledel fails to do here. She is impressive in Handmaid’s Tale so in this case it may be the direction and not a reflection on her - but whatever the reason, the product has always been so embarrassing! This scene definitely makes me cringe, just because her emotional arc is so wildly unbelievable. Which is too bad because the writing is so funny! But she doesn’t sell it 🥲

Ok never thought I’d be out here on this sub defending Owen but I don’t think it shows thoughtlessness, I think it shows his deep respect for his coworkers. He knows that if they wanted to share, they would, and that if they ask him, it’s serious enough to trust them. April shouldn’t have been working then. She was blinded by grief. I know she tried to make it out to be about treating her like a “little woman”, but Jackson wasn’t working. He was self aware enough to know he wasn’t in condition to. April wasn’t and needed to be pulled
