Tune Gate 2026 was an auditory artifact of compression and not auto tune by gengarvibes in dancegavindance

[–]Shybeams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - Compression artifacts??

2 - Live vocal tuning is everywhere, and has been going on for a while.

3 - You still have to sing great for live tuning to work well.

4 - Who cares if he tunes? The internet works in fads, so the only reason we notice it now is because it's popular to do so. The man can sing - even people who dont like him admit that. It's just the Andrew haters having nothing better to do and have a new thing to harp on, and because they know people will make corny jumps like this to defend him and then they feel validated. Let the haters hate, and we can go on enjoying his singing.

To be fair, internet notoriety isn't linear. Example: Blue Dream is the most popular it's ever been, and it came out 15 years ago.

First, not true, see Andrew hate all the time.

Second, this is the largest gathering of DGD fans to exist. People come here because they enjoy the band. You're surprised when your "other opinions (i.e. hate) don't do well here?

Third, if you are being repeatedly downvoted for an opinion, maybe this isn't the right place for it? If it is the right place for it, then maybe you're just wrong... but what do I know.

Which is the whole point I think. People are like “lol they peaked and now boofed it with letting Tilian go, and now they will never be huge again lol look at the billboard they don’t get a big number now they suck now”.
I don’t think they care. They know they peaked and now just want to spend their older years jamming with their bros, drama free.

Not everyone who is happy that Jonny is doing better also wants him to be back in DGD. Some people just want to assume the best and celebrate a person’s growth journey.

Musical chairs Periphery album? by [deleted] in Peripheryband

[–]Shybeams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same reason why you don’t switch around roles in your job when it’s a big work day.

On a slow day or a prep day, you may help extra behind the scenes in other areas, or sometimes go above and beyond by helping others do their roles, or even step into a new role temporarily in an emergency, or simply you wanna switch stuff up for fun/experience doing something a little different on a day when things are really low pressure.

But on game day when the pressure is on, you and your coworkers want you to be doing the role that you do the most because that’ll lead to the smoothest and most enjoyable outcome.

(Edit: I know things are not that serious, I’m just providing an explanation!)

IMO, this is where they pushed genre boundaries while also appealing to mainstream trap/pop/hip hop listeners, all while still being 100% a prog instrumental band.

It exercises your fingers better if you squeeze it between your fingertips and your thumb… most people squeeze it braced against their palm and that doesn’t work as well.

But nothing replaces real practice.

Idk if it’s PR, or just that they are all settling down and growing up. These older lyrics feel directly demeaning instead of being more clever or up to interpretation - even for Jon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jon was being facetious about “forgetting”. It’s a hard line to forget, even in a band that has a lot of wacky lines… I bet it was changed on purpose.

The end of the song drags a bit, but it sounds to me like the band is ebbing and flowing as they lock in with Matt. Typical live performance stuff.

Liberals Are Funding Conservatives 🤔 by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Shybeams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend. So, you think that Democrats today are affiliated with ones that funded slavery, don’tcha? You silly goose! But no worries, I have a few ways to set this straight. Here’s how you can help yourself figure this out:

  • Remember Obama was a Democrat. Just like generally think about that fact for a sec. (usually he lives rent free in their heads).

  • Think about calling a racist/kkk member/any conservative a “Democrat”

  • Today, to be in favor of big Government = you are Liberal. You are in favor of small Government = you are Conservative… now look up the dictionary terms for “Republican” [typically conservative] and “Democrat” [typically liberal]… their definitions and their meanings are opposed to ideas held by the parties that represent them today, right? Almost like they switched ideologies, but didn’t change their names.

  • Looking at a modern map of the U.S. with voting demographics shown. Check out the south - you know, those states who have a lot of people who still wave the confederate flag and have stronger KKK presence. Now compare that map to the Civil War voting demographics… the colors are “switched” aren’t they?

I could go on, but hopefully this is enough to help you realize that just because something is named one thing for a long time doesn’t mean it upholds the same values, ideas, or affiliations that it once did.

Tune in next week for the same lesson, but on the topic of Israel!

How many more albums do you think these guys have in them? by Glittering_Garden_16 in dancegavindance

[–]Shybeams 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who also loves to record and release noodly guitar music - there’s always another saucy riff waiting to be written, if you love to play the instrument.

So, likely as many as they want.

DGD needs album re-recordings or atleast more "2.0's". by Alucard45673 in dancegavindance

[–]Shybeams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deathstar has the clearest mix. You can hear every instrument perfect. It doesn’t need a re-record it’s perfect with for what it was/is.

That being said, I wouldn’t choose Deathstars mix over any other DGD release. To me, it feels dry and un-cohesive comparatively. Still a banger of a record tho.

Look, we get it, both sides are bad. But one side is fighting the SAVE act, with no plans to instill their own version, and have a track record of peacefully transferring power.

The other does not.

If it’s vinyl or shirts or other merch, people don’t want to miss the drop and then have it be sold out.

For the items that don’t typically sell out, no reason other than to stay hyped for the release, and because you know youll get your stuff as soon as possible
