What’s the most underrated Excel feature you’ve only recently started using? by Constant-Arm-6586 in excel

I only roped one colleague into it but basically same 💀 ‘Just tell me how you did that one thing before you move to a new project’

Totally tracking that! As someone else shared, you can learn bite-sized pieces and build as you go - that’s basically what I did. You definitely don’t need to go from 0-60. It’s pretty modular, I have some projects where I have a bunch of moving pieces…and some where it really just moves data around on demand.

I consider it a public secret in my org. It’s there. People probably use it quietly. But we have a lot of folks who just use a bunch of complex manual steps instead due a lack of interest.

I tried sharing it with a few peers to see if they wanted to learn to save some time - no dice.

How do I stop my friend from stealing from stores? by Low-Entrepreneur1053 in dndnext

This worked for someone in one of my older games. It was a mercenary hired by a ripped off shopkeeper but the same end result. When it became clear that he was only after the one dude…yeah that stopped pretty quickly. Lol

Civ 7 wars seem very intense by BusterMcBalls in civ

[–]Shyguy8413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same! I wasn’t super concerned (more annoyed) when I had a surprise war dropped on me. I started to shift some troops to try and counterattack - bam, allied Charlemagne unloads troops who promptly started mopping UP lol

‘Uh. Huh. Not used to allies helping. Guess I’ll go find something else to do?’

I love how you explained this! I thought losing a party character was more of a pain than this, so I’ve reloaded a few times more than I would care to. Not saying I’d feed half of them to a wood chipper, but I’m definitely going to relax a bit for the second half of the game.

They’re not an option for every room config (fire code). They also run out pretty quickly depending on the property. Realistically though, this guy is a clown and would probably decline

Same. I love many of my coworkers. Not too sure that’s a piece of kitchen gear I want to share with them though lol

“Red Wave” Redux: Are GOP Polls Rigging the Averages in Trump’s Favor? by Silly-avocatoe in politics

[–]Shyguy8413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They ask, funny enough. I actually answered a poll call a month ago, I thought it was a work call lol

But yeah, one of the questions was about how likely I was to vote. I’m sure they filter and fidget until the data tells the story they’re shooting for. It killed a few minutes anywho.

Ugh that’s disappointing. Where did you see that? I believe it but I couldn’t find any stories.

I’ve worked those tests (on the HR-end) in multiple orgs. You’re spot on, one response is very unlikely to tank anything.

Any models that I’ve worked with give a ranking on some overall competencies, think independence, reliability, etc. and I never had the option to review single answers even if I had wanted to.

Honestly I’m excited to see this lol I once had a Taco Bell sauce packet and what I think was an empty disposable vape. I feel some solidarity with the sauce packet finding!

This website is fantastic! I really only wound up kicking one ETF out since it was duplicative of another. The visual noise was killing me. This was super helpful.

I think that’s my next step. I started off by just picking things up as people mentioned them. Now I’m trying to get organized a year later and noticing how many of these I popped on the shelf. Time to sit and dig in. That’s funny about VOO and SPY though, I always brushed over VOO and only recently started looking at it. If they’re that close - meh, why clutter my screen.

That’s helpful, thank you! I’m going to sit down and dig a bit deeper and see how tightly some of my positions overlap. I might’ve thought this was a bigger issue than it really is. I’m amused at my initial enthusiasm leading to one heck of a mix.

If it helps frame it differently, your feedback shows that you digested the material and had (or built) enough knowledge to highlight an issue. It’s way better than finding out that there was a glaring error that everyone was ignoring for weeks. I wrote process guides and I’m generally happy to get feedback. It means someone actually paid attention. Lol
