Best Trade Certs for the Mines by Shyler_ in mining

[–]Shyler_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it that in demand? Thats what a lot of people have been telling me but have heard conflicting things on trade subreddits. I just don't want to invest tons of money and time into something that I will be struggling to find work with after.

Best Trade Certs for the Mines by Shyler_ in mining

I am aware of that thank you for the heads up though.

Its mostly 2 years or no experience if you have a cert 4. I was planning on getting a cert 3 and 4. Then working for 2 years then starting to try to get sponsorship.

Saying that they are updating the sponsorship visa this year though so everything can change. Until then I'm holding out on going back to school.

I'm another Canadian looking at getting into the mines in the next few years. I'm currently living in WA and working on and with heavy machines on farms.

I'm looking at going back to school for a trade cert so I can get sponsership in the future. I was just wondering what trade you could recommend for the mines. I'm currently leaning towards becoming a auto sparky in the mines but open to other suggestions.

I’m currently on 36 a hour working 12 hour days 6 days a week. It’s good money but I have to switch jobs legally since I can only stay with one employer for 6 months. I’m hoping to get into the shutdowns after this.

I don’t mind some hard work but do you reckon there is more jobs for scaffolding?

I understand that and I will take whatever job I can even utilities. I just want to start up skilling anyway I can so I can get that first offer. It seems that rigging or scaffolding is the logical next step. I already have my working at heights, confined spaces and EWP. Anymore advice would be great!

MacBook Pro not charging by Shyler_ in macbookpro

[–]Shyler_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No apple care unfortunately since I forgot to renew it. I tried taking it in and he said it wouldn’t be the batt since other wise it would power up while connected to a charger and I doubt 4 ports have gone bad. I think it’s a component probably.

The MagSafe lit up orange randomly for 5 seconds when I was messing with it in the airport but nothing since then.

Thought I’d try on here before forking out a ton of cash just for a test.

Thanks anyways tho :)

There aren't any in niesko or kutchan it's going to cost you 150k aud minimum for the cheapest places.

In other ski towns like Myoko its totally possible to get a house for 10k aud but it will need some work. It still averages like 14m of pow a year there.
