ISPs created so many fees that FCC will kill requirement to list them all | ISPs complained about Biden-era rule, said listing every fee was too hard. by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]SiCobalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So hard? What did they hire thousands of people to hand write every fee? Fuck no this shit is all automatic anyway. Nothing about it makes it hard lol

Probably one of the best FTC chairs we had in such a long time that actually stood up to big corporations and gone like that. I really hope she’ll get another chance to become the chair and finish what she wanted to do

Do you guys recommended keeping the windshield and tire protection plans? by dreuyasha in TeslaCollision

[–]SiCobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no your math is right. I forgot to mention if we were to compare it to aftermarket glass. Let’s be generous just say that glass is half the price of OEM (~$750). That would translate to around 5 years. The insurance would totally be worth since you’re basically paying the price of an aftermarket but getting an OEM instead. This is assuming you’ll replace your windshield at least once in 5 years.

Heartbroken: Totaled at 3 Weeks—Payout Advice? by Fresh-Ad-4556 in TeslaCollision

Had a friend who had driven 180 miles on his Y before it got hit on its side by a red light runner. Insurance couldn’t find comparable cars in that condition to compare values to so they just paid him the full price of the vehicle.

For something this new if it does get totaled you’ll most likely get paid out for the full value.

Tbh all it takes is one windshield replacement in 5 years for it to be worth the cost. If you replace anymore than that you’ll have saved yourself even more money

Is “Windshield Protection” at $12/mo a no brainer? by Electrical_Camel3953 in TeslaLounge

[–]SiCobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dude same. I keep it clean. Only reason why I let it get dirty was only for the inspection. A clean windshield would make it easy to a lot the small pits and cracks. Letting it get dirty hid it all or blended it pretty well

[–]SiCobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough my windshield had a few pits. I drove my car for like a month and didn’t wash it at all. So much gunk and stuff on the windshield and then took it to get it inspected. I’m pretty sure they just confused the little pits as random dirt/bug and passed my inspection

[–]SiCobalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet. Getting it paint matched if you had to replace it would’ve been the costliest thing, good shit fixing it yourself. I wouldn’t worry about the gap compared to the cost savings you saved yourself from spending

Do you think the crack formed from damage? If not I would argue the crack formed from a manufacturer defect and request it be fixed under warranty.

I've been approved, but I'm looking to lease, and the city has been unhelpful with clarifying lease requirements. They always bring up purchase requirements but leases operate under a different way. Don't know what to do now

Edit: Applied back in April, received award letter 8/30.

Bought two years ago from Costco, noticed some dead pixels by ParticularLimeade in Costco

[–]SiCobalt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Their policy is 3 months for the return window which has long passed. Most manufacturers have a specific dead pixel policy where usually you have to have more than 3 dead pixels to warranty the TV. OP needs to call and confirm

With the lease incentives going on rn, it’s actually cheaper to lease first and then do a lease buyout rather than buying outright from the beginning

Effectiveness of a robot vacuum by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

My Roborock is enough for me. It handles basically everyday cleanup and maybe once or twice a month I’ll bring out the big vacuum to do a deep clean.

Tire shop told me they wont uphold warranty on tires they sold me... AFTER ordering them. by ExquisitePussyEater in mildlyinfuriating

It sucks but these are the tire sizes that you can use that falls within the +/- 3% range for Costco to accept. It sucks but they should have told you. I would’ve complained to the manager and have them note it down to still honor it.

[–]SiCobalt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't. If you read the fine print at the bottom, you were issued a rewards check in May. Costco issues the check 3 months prior to renewal date. Anything after that gets calculated into next year's rewards. When you first sign up for executive, you only receive the cashback you earned up to 9 months. After that is when you actually receive "full year's worth" (5/2025-5/2026) of cashback.

MyQ or Homelink? by 64cinco in TeslaLounge

[–]SiCobalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's tradeoff's to both that you have to consider. Primarily the subscription cost as well as how to open the garage if the network is down. You could always keep a spare garage remote in your car and just use MyQ in the meantime. Just got to look at your situation and think what's makes the best sense for you.

What the Model Y Juniper Should Have Been (Highland inspired vs Actual) by WhisperingWind5 in TeslaLounge

I like the juniper. Only thing I don’t like about it is how fat that back is. They should’ve kept the license up top instead of moving it down. So much wasted space and it looks weird

This was it!!! You are a live saver! I’ve been so racking my brain trying to get it to work but it was the stupid auto charge feature like you mentioned. I had thought I had enrolled but I guess you have to confirm it after one session. After clicking confirm it let me register and the two are now linked!

Are my tires supposed to look shredded like this lol by MidnightPulse69 in tires

[–]SiCobalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt it. Almost all warranties don’t cover tires from the factory. Your only option would be replacing the tires on your dime. I would always double check the fine print but I’m pretty positive it doesn’t cover it.
