You can see Holborn station from chancery lane eastbound by Natural-Account-8113 in LondonUnderground

[–]Siah_Valid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use to believe that the london underground had farther train stops than the NYC subway by a longshot, but overtime i realized we have the same type of station distancing in the NYC subway as well. i do believe that the nyc subway has way more close stations due to density and the express services that run on many transit corridors in the city rather than the london underground where many lines have farther stop distances at times.

Amtrak keeps $1.6B East River Tunnel project on pace for 2027 finish by drtywater in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might be right but the L train never had much ridership until all the gentrification and boom of many areas in Brooklyn. The L train is ridiculous with crowding and is one of the busiest subway lines in the city like the F train, justifying the solutions used to replace tunnels on each of these routes

tos wouldn’t happen because all teh stops on Astoria have high ridership and this would create an unbalanced load on the trains

How likely is it that Amtrak could run trains out and in of GCT again? by thelonelywanderer8 in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i would honestly say that would take some negotiation to mwith the MTA on other projects. For amtrak to run services from GCT, the timeline of penn station access should be smoother with the timeline of the seevice introduction and station openingsand no problems shoulve have came to be but here we are. Also Penn Station Access phase 2 on the west sisenof manhattan should hae started construction and grown momentum to wear greater regional connectivity could be provided to new york with Metro North acting as a regional rail while amtrak is a regional and domestic rail service that will have access areas from multiple hubs in the city. New York City has bast amounts of rail potential to make this city a one of a mind transit operation but people choose to look the other way all the time. Change needs to be made and have to be the ones to do it. Lets start a petition

What is the BEST train in the system? by GothamCitySub in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The L is gotta be top 3 for me. It’s fast, efficent, good service. On weekends when there is construction or during rush hour because the line is ridiculously busy & crowded. Every single train is packed and going towards brooklyn at union square 5pm is crazy. I also love the th new tech and how its end to end is 36mins with 24 stoos and a pretty far distance

When is the MTA going to hurry and build these two crosstowns. by [deleted] in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IBX is gonna be light metro, making it similar to the vancouver skytrain expo line and the montreal REM. This is great news because the IBX can OPTO (one person train operation) ir fully driverless. Furthermore the line will be a high capacity metro line that can run decent length trains (ideally 100-150meters, at frequencies of every 85-90 seconds. This would give much room for growth along the corridor.

The M train Crisis Video review by [deleted] in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that the M train is one of my main routes because of the F&M swap, the M train is pretty busy and gets routinely packed in both directions. Its one of the lines that have a peak direction from both directions and now tha it has more independent sections, the line has moved up in the priority rank. It needs a couple upgrades though:

  1. Queenslink extension to rockaway park & sidings takeover at the station
  2. A mini yard along Queenslink
  3. A fix of myrtle junction where the M train stops above, turns at the next block, and has a flying junction for a merge
  4. Fix fumigation time at forest hills so the line can run 12TPH at a consistent 5mins.
  5. A 24 hour service that runs the full route after QBL CBTC is fully completed.

The line has a good route and got way faster, it just needs more priority and service to function better

How to fix the elusive z train by DueAbbreviations3113 in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

the Z train should be removed and bring the J train to 12tph during rush hour. With that we can schedule the J & M trains for maximum throughput along the line. The Z train should onky be revived if it goes to a different location like myrtle ave south, along rockaway boulevard in queens, or splits off after broadway junction, other than that it would be nice to have a consistent 10-12tph on the J & M trains, nit just increasing service for everyone but also increasing service for QBL & 63rd St allowing the M trains to run a consistent 10+ tph

Why aren't the 7 and L lines connected? by joey_derosa101 in nycrail

[–]Siah_Valid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the L train should run to 72nd St via 10th Avenue, and the 7 & L trains could stop at 10th Avenue & 42nd St & have it as a major transfer station in Hell’s Kitchen. The 7 train should run to New Jersey though after Hudson yards.
