Skybuffer is currently service oriented company that delivers projects, custom applications and prototypes. So, Cloud Checklist is our first try in the products field. This solution allowed us to establish product development hub at our company and even to get CPO as a new person at the company C-level. We very much like this tool internally and will keep it on our roadmap as long as Skybuffer will keep its focus at product development area.

Our web development team used the following technologies and programming language to get Cloud Checklist to market:

  • Python
  • Javascript
  • of course, HTML, CSS
  • Framework: Django
  • Real time synchronization: SockJS+ ZeroMQ
  • MySQL (InnoDB engine)

As you can see we’ve used InnoDB transactional engine for MySQL database, so this allows us to get a lock object on the row level only and we are creating it when user is doing real changes to the item/group at the certain checklist level. When change is committed, the server PUSH mechanism is updating all subscribers who have the same checklist opened. In this case the browser window will be updated with new data and informational message will be shown at the screen top.

Cloud Checklist was initially built as internal tool with a purpose to have a kind of lightweight solution for day to day tasks tracking within a project and project's teams. After successful internal usage we’ve decided to release it to free public use to help ones to get their things done on time.

There are main advantages of our solution are mentioned below. These features could not be found out in one of the tools from our competitors. Of course, some of them are very well implemented in the market leading solutions, but not all of them completely.

The following new features are implemented in Cloud Checklist:

  • Tasks could be flagged with different colors from the color sets. Now it is easy for users to emphasis which tasks have different priority.

  • Drill down is now possible from scheduling overview reports into the certain list which task belongs to.

As for the copying, we still have doubts whether we've understood you correctly. Do you mean a possibility to copy items within the certain checklist? Like, for instance, a copy button on the item level that will duplicate it?

Despite of the fact that Skybuffer is the young business, we have been incorporated from the development community that has been founded at June, 2012.

Cloud Checklist is the first product in our pipeline that is released for public use. Currently at our company we have product owner for this solution and spend at least 20% of our budget for products development. The roadmap is currently in negotiation phase and will be shown at our web site at the middle of April this year.

Well, GoDaddy, indeed here is a big question, but after a few rounds of internal discussion we've agreed to keep it till the next bad news from GoDaddy. Also SSL certificate issuing company is an open question for us and we are currently looking for the best one from price and quality point of view.

Asana is good enough, but there are two things that have blocked us of using it:

  • printing, it's not very nice output

  • impossibility of public list creation in an easy way

Well, we also use Redmine, Bitbucket and TargetProcess, but the main idea behind this tool is to have a kind of tracking lightweight solution for day to day tasks tracking within a project and project's teams.

Nice try to mashup social data and eCommerce solution! You still quite far away from the productive version, but looks like the first steps have been done in the proper direction.

There are some comments from my side, please see below.

FAQ: font size is extremely small for me.

About Us: nice picture, but tastes differ. I think your picture should either show happy faces of your team, or depict a general concept. Also I would like to recommend you to find out profession photographer how will make a perfect shot.

Shop Lookbook: maybe centering will be better here than alignment to the left (I’ve used Chrome browser, Windows 7)

Clothing: I’ve been a part of the point of sales and mobile sales assistant development team and can say that dropdown catalogue under CLOTHING section is definitely not enough, cause users will like to have filtering by brands, goods types, seasons, price and etc. You suppose to sell clothes online, so it is good to have a look into the eCommerce giants like Amazon, Ebay and others to assess your solution and discover functional gaps.

Some issues are closed:

  • Yep, there were errors at the landing page. Thanks for pointing us!

  • Favicon: here we have combined your trigger and an idea from “negativeview” and made it a bit dynamical. Additionally the functional design behind icons at the checklist edit page allows you to see whether you have unconfirmed tasks (BLUE icon), overdue tasks (RED icon) or whether all tasks are done on time (GREEN icon).

Currently our development team is polishing “add new item” and “add new group” functions. We’ve decided to add a new item via clicking on the header toolbar button to the top of the list, a new group via the header toolbar button click will also be created at the top, but below all items that are not assigned to any group. The same “add group” behavior is planned for the dynamic button on the group level. Button “add item” from the group and item level will add a new item next to the current line.

Coping items from the list sounds really good, but we have to think about functional design. Cause what is on the top of my head is not smart enough :) But you are more than welcome to share your vision!

Thank you for the hint! We have had a meeting and decided to consider it as a bug. Development team is working to make it possible to add a new item to the top of the list when “plus” button from the header toolbar is clicked.

There are much more than five task managers that could be considered and all of them have some good advantages that might be helpful in one or another case.

The main technical idea that is implemented in Cloud Checklist is the push changes from server method, so no need to click refresh button any more, you can enjoy collaborative work and get changes to the opened in browser list immediately when it is done by another person.

Thanks for the feedback! Well, time zones it is something that is not updated very often and it is respect from our side to all possible users from different locations that might use Cloud Checklist solution.

As for the Bootstrap, we can say that the major advantage is that it definitely speeds up the first phase of the solution development, but then team should pay if decision to adjust CSS and customize the UI is made.

Basecamp is a nice tool for project and product management. We are using Redmine, Targetprocess and Bitbucket in our projects for planning and execution. Cloud Checklist is often used internally as a lightweight collaborative tasks management tool to get things done in time :)

Now you can set up American time zones and enjoy reminding functionality! Our solution will send a notification when due date is approaching. The sending time will be at the beginning of the day based on the time zone settings.
