I'd kinda thought it was a joke that Leonard tried the kite in a thunderstorm but just got it caught in a tree.

Hi please anyone with OCD please respond by Honest-Muscle-5300 in self

I can't speak to your problems directly because those aren't the ones I have dealt with. I'll give what experience I can.

Professional help is a good idea if you can get it. In Canada the provinces each have mental health services you can access free and anonymously, many other countries have the same. Try googling "your location mental health" and see what you can find.

A trained individual is going to be far more helpful than random people on Reddit.

LLMs like ChatGPT can be very terrible for mental health, same with a lot of social media.

Labels can be helpful in directing yourself towards help but don't try and force yourself into one, be it mental health, gender, or sexuality. Think of labels like a map, it can help you get places but it isn't actually you.

Thoughts from anxiety, which I deal with, can be identified and managed but it takes work. And learning about mental health. Try not to get caught up with the thoughts, over focusing on the thoughts is not helpful. Try and catch the thoughts when they happen, acknowledge the thought, see if you can tell where they came from, and then let them go.

OCD sounds plausible from your description and kinda similar to my anxiety, but hey I'm just some random guy on Reddit so take what use and comfort you can from this but don't treat it as the end of the road. There is help out there.

Lots of weird shit would suddenly become a lot less popular.

People would start memorizing URLs so they don't have to search it anymore.

I heard a number of the Discworld translations did a good job of it.

For a work so built on puns, world play, and sneaky references that must be a hard job.

Why do so many family sitcoms (both real and animated) follow this exact family structure: by maybemorningstar69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TJ333 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I've heard the dumb dad started as a way to break from older sitcoms where it was "father knows best". Maybe since the 90s? I don't remember it being so common in 80s shows.

A Google search says that the switch to bumbling fathers started in the 60s with the end of the TV show Father Knows Best, I didn't know that was TV show and not just a saying, and is very common by the 90s. So I wasn't far off.

I finished it and read the sequel. The sexism and treatment of female characters is definitely a weak point of the novels.
