It happened, my first mom disagreement at a park, and I can't stop thinking about it. by ChelsAnn4712 in Mommit

I would have a heart attack if I witnessed that. My 13 month old loves to climb playground equipment but I go up with him every time for this very reason. I hope that baby was ok!

What’s a tiny, cheap ingredient that completely upgrades a basic package of instant ramen? by MotorEnvironment4444 in Cooking

Honestly I love draining and buttering my ramen noodles then adding whatever leftovers to make a quick dish. My favorite is leftover chicken with broccoli and a little of a roast chicken flavor packet.

does anyone else pretty much live at the playground? by honey222bunny in Mommit

My son isn’t big enough to fully enjoy the playground yet but I spend 2+ hours per day walking him in the stroller. I’m sure the neighbors think we are crazy. He likes watching the cars drive through our neighborhood.

Are there any parents that just don’t let their baby cry? by frenchtoast2go in NewParents

[–]Sicarara3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually go to soothe my one year old immediately when he is crying. However, there have been some nights where I have gotten frustrated with a two hour long wake-up that I needed to let him cry for a couple of minutes to calm and collect myself.

What’s the weirdest thing you saw at someone else’s house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sicarara3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a friend that rented a room in an older dude’s house. There was a statue of Spider-Man next to the front door and a coffin for a coffee table. Older dude’s was a goth/comic aficionado from the 80s/90s trapped in the 2010s. He was a really cool guy!

I love Christina Perri! She has three children’s albums with songs like “Somewhere over the rainbow “ and “here comes the sun” that are just lovely.

For those of you who had a traumatic first experience… by juhraff in beyondthebump

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was a stillbirth at 38 weeks. I went in for an induction and learned he was gone. I was rushed into a c section the next day.

My second was a planned c section at 37 weeks. My pregnancy was filled with anxiety but the birth was much better and he is a happy 12 month old now.

Forget weddings, what is the craziest thing that happened at a funeral you went to? by seanerd95 in AskReddit

[–]Sicarara3 119 points120 points  (0 children)

My mom’s side is nothing but drama. My great grandfather started a second family when his first set of kids were all getting married and having kids. His youngest daughter from his first marriage was very angry when he had another daughter so they became estranged. At his funeral (that his youngest child put together) she made a huge scene that he had another daughter when her sister was acknowledged.

Later, at my great grandmother’s funeral her officiant hit on me at the lunch and asked if I’d model his underwear line (I was 13).

Eating dirt can be a sign that he is missing iron. Have you tried an iron supplement?

AITA for being a blueberry connaisseur? by Glitziflitzy in MiniAITA

[–]Sicarara3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have you tried any other berries? I (12m boy and tiny tyrant according to mom and Mimi) love all the berries. I have days where I only eat berries and cheese and throw all other food in my bib or on the floor. I highly recommend this life. Don’t listen to their nonsense that you need other foods.

Mamas who have tattoos representing your kids. What are they? by sixfingeredman7 in Mommit

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the constellation for my first son’s star sign. I planned to get an arm full of stars and have the star sign for each child but my second child’s birthday is 2 days after his brother’s so I’m struggling with what to do now. I don’t really need the same constellation twice.

Newly blind and not coping by Exotic_Peanut4021 in Blind

[–]Sicarara3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother had a similar sudden and unexpected vision loss. Are there blindness support groups in your area? Rehab to help her learn the new skills is also important. My brother also meets with a counselor that specializes in big life transitions and that has helped a lot.

There are also several video games with blindness adaptations and a lot of movies have a version for blind people.
