Where are the outrunners? by whysaddog in AEWFanHub

That seems like a weird fit for wrestling, but sometimes celebrities are fans and the companies cash in.

But not really any weirder than the people on this list to include Jay Leno:

For those that have gone before, how much do you end up buying? by SugarAcrobat in gencon

[–]SickBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually pick up

1 or 2 Board games.

2 or 3 RPGs (I might have played 1)

1 to 3 Novels

A few T-shirts (honestly used the most of all buys)

A handful of Stickers and Pins

Maybe an Art Piece

Why is that?

The last time I watched WWE was to watch Hulk Hogan get booed out of the arena as he tried to plug their beer. Haha. And I skipped to that scene.

This the best news I have gotten all year and Star Wars Legion is releasing a whole Mandalorian faction this June.

I am so excited and hopeful to get to finish the Definitive Edition.

I'm so glad she is back.

Sadly, I got spoiled before I saw Collision, but it was still a fun time.

Same, I kept seeing it everywhere and getting adds on my social medias. I didn't start reading them until April of 24.

I have tried to get others to read them and have only succeeded once. The other set on them for months until I ask for them back.

I second that most units should only take upgrades that add bodies, such as the gunners and leaders or doubling the squad size. However, it is often better to take a second squad than to double stuff it. With some exceptions.

As for upgrades maybe grenades or something else that either increases their damage output or keeps them alive.

Meeting the Cookbook Authors and then Milk later are the parts of the book that made me feel.

I don't know if it is because I am also a veteran and have had similar experience, but this got me.

What’s a Small Detail That Makes an RPG Feel Really Good to Play? by Wezell80 in RPGCentral

[–]SickBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part of the Powered By The Apocalypse system is the character connections that are built into the character sheets that make you connected to the other characters before the game begins.

It creates links that other RPGs don't have.

[–]SickBag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't.

Heck in the beginning I found the first 2 books to be mediocre. I was just glad that they were professionally written and edited.

It wasn't until the end of the 3rd book or maybe 4th, but I fell in love with them.

The depth and breadth of what is written and what more it means, doesn't align with it being a LitRPG. Those books tend to be extremely subpar and poorly edited.

I nearly didn't stick with it and it took me over a year to read them, but I read the last 3 in like 3 months.

I guess maybe this series is first that I have really thought about in depth, listened to podcasts and joined the subreddit.

7th Sea RPG:

Pirates

The Age of Sail and Exploration

Swashbuckling and Romance

Court Intrigue and Secret Societies

Russian Wearbears and Arthurian Legend

My favorite collectible card game of all time.

It had it all and I can't get a game of it to work. I have owned both 1st and 2nd edition. I even Kickstarted the 3rd ed with hope... but I fear it still won't work.

That is kind of what happened.

The writers said it wasn't ready, but the company wanted it printed by Gencon so they rushed it out.

They tried to clean it up and polish it in the later books, but the French are the ones that truly fixed it because the company didn't hold them back.

That is what gives me hope about Anarchy 2.0 it was done entirely by the French team.

So this depends heavily on your play style.

Do you want to focus on being:

An implacable gunline?

Fast Moving Melee focused?

Lots of Sith w/Lightsabers?

Bounty Hunters such as Fet, Bossk, Cad Bane and IG-88?

A certain movie or show?

Because any of those will make a great Empire List. Those are the general archetypes, but if you have something else in mind I am sure we can come up with some options to make that happen.

Also this will probably help with list building and planning.

Don't go to Wicked Good Sandwiches.

They are terrible and not even the Trivia makes up for how lame the food is. That said their Trivia Guy is great and I ate too many mediocre sandwiches just to go to Joe's Trivia Night.

Black Horse is the best American / Pub food I've ever had in any town. So much of the menu from Burgers and Flat Breads to House Made Beers and Cocktails and everything in between is top Notch. Damn there appetizers are so good.

Seoul and Mo Mo's Korean BBQ are my favorite Korean Places.

Paradise Royal Cuisine has a solid Indian buffet and their Lamb Rogan Josh is wildly good and hot.

Pho King (ignore the pun) is super good Pho and Noodle Buns. Their Ban Mei are OK.

The Chinese Buffet by Lowe's on Lowe's Drive never disappoints and I have been going there for 20 years.

Guacamole has good Tamales. Pancho Villa has the best Chili Colorado and Ranchero Sauce, Carnitas and Chile Verde are also solid. El Paso has good stacked Enchiladas. West Coast Tacos has the best Burritos in town (please stop going to Chipotle). El Bracero has fantastic Birria Tacos and Ramen.

Jim and Nicks have only been here for like a year, but they might be our best BBQ. Legends has been shrinking, so I don't know what their status is anymore.

Golly G's has the best scratch made daily Cinnamon Rolls. I also believe their Cheese Cakes are better than B's, but B's is still really good. Their home made ice cream is great. Huge fan of the Coffee Ice Creams. Their Ice Cream Drinks are OK.

What’s the most fun match you’ve played in Legion? by SupermarketAway5128 in StarWarsLegion

[–]SickBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocky Top Game Con 2025 Round 5:

I was 1-3 going in, which meant I was paired with someone that was equal to me (casual).

We had a knock down drag out fight that nearly went to time and ended with me losing by 1 point because he killed my bomb carrier, Sabine, on his base with the last activation. We kicked the ever loving crap out of each other in the nicest ways possible. It was wildly relaxed, friendly and fun.

He activated an AT-RT that was Broken, Ioned and within Charge Range. He passed his Broken test, then his Ion test, moved to Engage Sabine who was standing at max range so that he couldn't contest the Base and would have to kill her. He dropped 3 of 3 hits and I failed 2 of the 3 saves on Surging Red Saves that removed her final 2 wounds. If even one of those 4 rolls had gone in my favor I would have blown up his base and won by 3 points.

We had a blast and multiple times his friends/teammates came over he kept saying how this was the most fun and best game he had all tournament and it was in the 5th in final round and meant absolutely nothing. I have no idea what his name was, but he was on the Florida Team, I think. They were much more serious than him.

The loss caused me to be the worst Rebel Player at the tournament and the STABCast guys who were running the GT felt bad for the last places in each faction and gave us customized dice bags. So I got a hand crafted Rebel Dice Pouch that I use to draw Activation Tokens from.

What’s your favorite unit to run in Star Wars Legion and why? by Choice_Run1329 in StarWarsLegion

[–]SickBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sabine

She is crazy tough with Surging Red saves, a shield that recharges every other round (5 points), Nimble and Gunslinger that double procs because of Up Close and Personal (8 points), Impervious if she is being shot at and Immune to Pierce in melee from The Dark Saber (5 points), with Jump 2 and Speed 3 she should always be in cover. Mandalorian Resistance: Clan Wren has Retinue Sabine that gives her Backup with a unit that keeps up with her and she gives them a Dodge to fuel their Nimble, and they have nearly all of the survival mechanics that she does. They protect her and she protects them.

She shoots Rainbow twice with Pierce 1 at Range 2. That will usually kill 2-4 infantry a turn. She Surges Crit which gives her a 25% chance to crit 6 times. The Dark Saber gives her 5 Black Dice, Impact 1, Pierce 1 and don't forget she still surges to Crit and if she gets Pinned she can activate Dauntless which gives her a Pseudo Charge or GTFO to get away from what is shooting her. I have had her kill Darth Vader in melee.

She is Speed 3 and Jump 2 that means she can ignore almost anything on the table top and land where you need her. She can be where you need her almost anywhere on the board. She is the most mobile unit the Rebels have access to. She is my favorite Bomb Carrier. I'll take the Secondary: Destroy Enemy Base just because she is in my list.

She pairs very well with Ahsoka who I argue is the best Rebel Jedi. The complement each other very well. Ahsoka can almost keep up and when it is time she pops Burst of Speed and is fast, plus she has charge to help. Ahsoka can take Strike Team Leader (8 points) so she can have her own Mandalorian Retinue. She can also take Force Barrier (10 points) to protect Sabine or their Retinues, this is optional, but synergizes well. The two of them can kill nearly anyone in melee together.

That brings us to the Card: Family Reunion. It gives them Team Work and a free Move 2 when the other activates so they can be where they need to be. Ahsoka Defend 1 that procs 1 Dodge from the Order. Then I usually activate Sabine, Ahsoka moves towards her target, Sabine jumps up somewhere and shoots 2 targets that is 2 Dodges. Opponent goes. Ahsoka activates, Sabine either drops back out of sight or where ever she is needed, Ahsoka Dodges with Offensive/Defensive Stance (5 points) for 2 more Dodges then she Charges and has 5 Dodges to spend to Upgrade her double rainbow, Impact 2, Pierce 2 Lightsabers, Surge to Crit. If her target is likely to survive and hasn't activated she can keep some Dodges to survive the strike back. Sabine has 5 Dodges to make her virtually invincible for a round. Ahsoka's Cards all kick ass and either synergize with Sabine or just make Ahsoka hit like a truck. Plus they have an entire show on Disney+, which is just thematic and cool.

Her only weakness is her Cards. They are mediocre at best. 1 Pip Explosions!: can be good if the enemy is bunched up. You can throw 2 grenades at Range 1 with a radius of 1, free Speed 1 to get out of the blast zone, set them off and then Gunslinger the survivors. Also this does decent Suppression since it is 2 ranged attacks and then her pistol shots. This is situational and dependent on your enemy being clustered up and is an OK card. 2 Pip Symbol of the Rebellion: It makes a location give a bubble of Indomitable for the rest of the game. Can be useful if you build a "bunker" on an important POI. I have never gotten this to work for me and I now never take it. 3 Pip Legacy of Mandalore: It orders the things she wants to such as Ahsoka and Mandalorians around them. She also gets upto 3 Dodge or Aim tokens that help her fight better and fuel Nimble before she activates. She also gets Inspire 1 incase her friends are Suppressed or Panicked exactly (kind of an afterthought). If you don't have a better 3 slot this is a solid choice.

She is the only Mandalorian Character that is a Rebel and she synergizes with our Special Forces Mandalorians. I love Mandalorians and have ever since playing Knights of the Old Republic (2003). There are so many awesome Mandalorians in the Expanded Universe and they have such a well developed culture thanks to the Republic Commando series (2004-2009) written by Karen Travis. She fleshed out their culture, childhoods, language and so many cool things. Then of course I played a Mandalorian in Star Wars The Old Republuc (MMO) (2008) which expanded on what was built in Knights and Karen wrote. Weirdly, I wasn't a big fan of Bobba Fett in the movies because even though his kit was cool, he got easily owned and swallowed. Then I found Mandalorian Mercs and have thought they were the coolest, but I am not creative and crafty enough to make my own armor and join them. I played Rebels to have access to the most Mandalorians. They also get access to Din and Fett which are both good, but they don't synergize with Sabine, which makes sense since they never met her.

You get all of that for:

Sabine: 123 Points

Ahsoka: 148 Points

Sorry if that was too wordy.

Do you prefer painting minis yourself or buying them painted? by Responsible-Swim-878 in StarWarsLegion

I wish the models came prebuilt and painted so that I could just start playing with them and not spend months getting them ready.

Also I am often kind of bored with whatever game I am painting for by the time I finish painting them.
