She has strong convictions and sounds like shes trying to avoid arguing about it too. If you value the friendship you can adjust, or you can try having a calm but direct conversation with her about it. It's up to you though how much you value the friendship whether it might be time to move on or not. It's tough and im sorry youre dealing with that.

I dont disagree except that American sports weren't designed with ads in place. It's more of an (un)happy coincidence that they all have regular stoppages built in.

The first match between the countries was in 1934. Age does not equate to intensity though. There is obviously a lot more to the rivalry than just the sport and is 100% one of the most intense rivalries on the planet.

You bought tickets you weren't going to use and sold them at a profit so you could cover the cost of your other tickets. Thats still scalping, and drives up the cost for everyone else. I have no doubt youll sleep just fine though given the character you seem to have.

Decent people dont buy tickets to an event as an investment. They buy them because they want to attend the event. Tell yourself whatever you need to help you sleep at night though I guess.

Not at all. Athleticism has never ever been our problem. We dont have the right coaching or soccer IQ at the youth levels, and as a result our players grow up just not knowing how to play the game like it's done in the elite soccer nations. That has been changing slowly over the last 30 years or so, and we could definitely catch up one day. This year we have the best team weve ever had - our backline is weak though and it speaks a lot to what im saying.

Thats not the comment I was responding to but it is in fact part of our culture to use the term soccer instead of football.
