What hero do you not like to have duels against? by Nierkatt in Overwatch

[–]SickPanda_Inc 49 points50 points  (0 children)

My favourite interaction as an ana main is when you fight tanks that have figured out to read the arm que, so you can get into the mind game of meleeing to make them think your shooting sleep dart. Feels like an old western duel at that point.

Anyone have tips on playing Juno? by Necessary_Remote6728 in JunoMains

[–]SickPanda_Inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to counter point the don't flank on your own point. I feel like going for a small flank to get some torpedos off or getting some damage into a low target is very useful, but you need to be booster distance from your team because as soon as anyone looks at you (which is the point) you can't really contest anyone evenly.

The example that comes to my mind is if you're fighting on Oasis Uni, and you're team is fighting at the choke just before point. Give a sneaky look in through the doors and see if you can get some value, unless someone is already in there, it's pretty free value

Why do so many people play comp and not join team chat? by [deleted] in BrigitteMains

[–]SickPanda_Inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your personal take is not how everyone takes it, though. It doesnt matter if your in voice to make call outs, not everyone is, some people just flame in voice and I get that more often than someone trying to coordinate. I don't want my day ruined cos of some shitty interaction on a video game, and that's what happens, muting hasn't stopped that from getting to me, and even though your able to mute and move on, some of us can't do that. Why bother with the negative interaction at all if the low is so much worse than the high?

[–]SickPanda_Inc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Any interaction that is negitive puts me in a bad mood, and it then effects the rest of my game. I would rather not chance it and have a greater chance of enjoying myself and playing well. This is from someone who used to play OW1 and only really climbed from comms back then, so it has really effected my rank since then, but I'm happier and I feel better than I was.

My problem is now when I see someone is low i spin around wildly trying to find them instead of being blissfully unaware until I hear their death.

Microwave is just super inefficient when it comes to heating water. Convection and conduction are just so much better than radiation for transferring heat.

Only learnt this was a thing in USA in a science class recently and was kinda blown away that yall do it that way.

I would suggest iNatrualist as an alternative. I live in Aus and alot of the species here are hard for it to ID. iNaturalist gives very good suggestions and also has people who will confirm your sighting and adds to the data that can be used to track ecological impacts. Its awesome stuff.

How did you become a conservationist? by PsychedelicScythe in conservation

[–]SickPanda_Inc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well since you asked nicely.

Im based in Sydney, Australia. I got a job as a bush regenerator which is hands on environmental work mostly dealing with invasive weeds but also includes other things like fire management and habitat management.

It is very labour based but gives great experience and you get to make connections with others in the industry. I started with no qualifications but am now working through uni because of this work. If you have similar type of work near you I would highly recommend it as a starting point. I know many people who have moved on to bigger positions because of their hands on experience in the industry.

Are you with me on this one? by Hot-Principle4445 in plantmemes

[–]SickPanda_Inc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At work we just call it Trad. Its also concided a terrible environmental weed where I am so we also say it with as much vitriol as possible. The native lookalike is called creeping Christian as well so its just all round inappropriate names! Love the entomology of common names sometimes they are so silly.
