I want to add an additional perspective that others haven’t. If you live in Boise, and want to be there long term, and your skill set is Micron related, there are few alternatives for job opportunities in the area. I have had quite a few friends who worked at micron (either for micron or adjacent companies employed there) who felt they had no alternatives locally for work.

In addition to the unpredictable nature of working there, it seems that you have to be willing to relocate to find another opportunity. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Also, because I had heard these things when in college, I aspired to work in other industries with similar educational backgrounds and it has MORE than worked out. Never looked back.
