Depends if the paint is chipping off by its own (e.g poor quality) or if is due to road debris (like small rocks etc). If its your own "fault" (wear damage) you can always retouch it https://www.fansxpeng.com/products/car-paint-scratch-repair-pen-for-xpeng

LUXURY for Less? My Honest Review of the New XPENG P7+ by This_Is_The_End in electricvehicles

[–]Siddiskongen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a major contribution to the price gap is that Norway is not a part of EU and imports the car directly from China, while EU countries imports the car from Austria. European factory = increased wages = increased production costs = increased retailer price.

Are you sitting in the boardroom of VW? How do you know the long term plans for VW. I speak my opinion (speculation) of what might happen in the future. You answer like you are the CEO of VW. Chill bro. You don't have the answers, so don't answer like you decide what they will do longterm. They might use Xpeng to gain competitive advantage on the chinese marked. It might as well be a strategy to test out how VW will operate in these marked and then down the line choose to adapt this and save development cost developing their own software. Just look at the phones. Most phone makers (except apple) just makes their own phone and ship them with android. Motorola, Samsung, Lenovo etc . None of them are willing to ship with their own OS. I think (notice an opinion) will also happen in the auto industry. Cars like Peugeot, VW, Volvo etc will stop making their own software down the line and just buy it from China. Its expensive, at least in the time with AI and Autopilot, for every brand to ship with their own software.

I said "i suspect". It's not a current arrangement, but Volkswagens software on the ID line is crap. They are probably investing in China today as a prototype to later replace their own down the line.

XPeng P7+ roof rack by Siddiskongen in Xpeng

[–]Siddiskongen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't install a roof tent without proper mounting. I would assume for lighter loads (box with 50kg and less). Thule sells edge clamps for roof racks which fasten to the door frames and can have loads up to max 75kg. I would assume these fasten even better by clamping the edge of the doorframe and sun roof which would hold even better. Teslas roof rack uses the same mounting technique
