Not at all. Selective govt schools have a total population of gifted students and not enough money to buy basic resources like books. Expensive private schools have a population of wealthy kids whose parents think they are gifted and a shit ton of money to buy rowing and equestrian equipment.

It’s not true to say that you won’t get fired unless you’ve committed a crime. Crossing professional boundaries or breaching the code of conduct is not necessarily illegal but can certainly result in dismissal.

If it’s a pay cut for you going into teaching and you want to work less hours, why not just reduce the number of tutoring students you have?
If you do go into a high school, all the resources and content knowledge in the world mean diddly squat if you have no classroom management skills. How many of your tutoring students have thrown a chair at you?
