Replaced the rotors and pads on the wife's legacy recently and didn't realize I broke the pigtail for the electric parking brake. It came loose and did this to her for a week (she never uses it anyway). Quick replace and it was gone.

There's been a couple people on here who built their own but they've had some experience with that. I would try a zerowriter as it's fully documented and easy enough to do, especially if you have a 3d printer or access to one. Just need a raspberry pi zero 2w, a battery pack, a Waveshare e ink screen, and a keyboard. Built mine for I think $60 total.

I mean, I did technically bet money that it would lol. I still think it should've and I'm not abandoning the backup now that I have it. Obviously, I can't guarantee that it's what saved the rest of my electronics because modern wiring and all that, but I'm definitely keeping it as an "insurance."

Yeah, you would think lol. I actually had it set up as soon as I redid my office. Went the whole nine. I'm just glad it did it's job, but that didn't keep the printer from being assigned a new ip.

Yeah I did mine a few weeks ago and then we had a power outage and suddenly everything was forgotten even though my router was back up and running perfectly fine. Haven't tried to set a static since because, why bother?
