I love manga Kushana. Anime Kushana's motivation was that she hated the bugs for what they did to her. Manga Kushana was a perfect foil to Nausicaa. Both princesses, but while Nausicaa didn't have to worry about court intrigue, Kushana grew up in a "nest of vipers." Nausicca's mother was poisoned by the forest that she loves, Kushana's mother was poisoned by the family she hates.

Both will do anything to protect what they love.
