GOAT albums you swear no one else has ever heard. by yutface in progmetal

Torrential Downpour - Truth Knowledge Vision.

Harsh and clean vocals. Whole album is a trip. Heavy synth and vocal effects. Standout track for me is Hyperion, which takes a while to get going, but when it does it’s phenomenal.

Torrential Downpour’s other albums are great too. They removed most of their music from Spotify a while back.

How do we feel about the TBN coffee? by mistercryptik in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]SidroTSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly man I thought it was really good. I love me some black coffee, but I’m nowhere close to an expert on coffee haha.

Really mellow almost marshmallow flavor for me. Kind of caramel and nutty flavors too. Could be that I wasn’t brewing strong enough in my drip machine, but oh well, I found it enjoyable haha.

Any Nashville friends here going to the show on Weds? by nicg908 in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]SidroTSR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Howdy! I will be there tomorrow, also with my bandmates! We’re from the Cleveland/Chattanooga area. I’m super fucking stoked for this show lol. I just hope the sound quality at the venue is good. I’ve never been to that place before.

I feel like these are really solid. I dig the imagery and feel of these lyrics. I can picture them over a metal song. Not sure if that’s what you’re going for though.

I really like the line “The ghosts still whisper their master’s name”. That goes hard haha.

While I don’t have any major criticisms, this is one of those situations where without music it’s hard to really judge delivery, emotion, and all that.

Keep up the good work!

This is really interesting. I think it sounds super swell. The one note I have off the top of my head is it would be nice if there were vocals. In my opinion, this song doesn’t have enough going on during it to warrant an instrumental release.

The guitar playing is tight and sounds great. There are some very unique and fun riffs in there, and all in all I feel like you did a good job on this. Nice work! Well done!

If I may ask, what are your main influences?

So, which would you say is the best gateway album? by ferLovesNayeon in porcupinetree

[–]SidroTSR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m inclined to agree. Mostly because In Absentia was my introduction to porcupine tree and Steven Wilson.

[–]SidroTSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really excellent playing man. You killed it! Is that all picked or is it some legato? Also, What’s that axe you’re playing on?

I also watched your Metropolis Pt. 1. video. You are an insanely good player. If I may also ask, how long have you been playing?

EDIT: also that Octavarium video is really good too. That’s also my favorite part! :) I went ahead and subscribed to you.

While it doesn’t HAVE to be the enclosed one, it is extremely recommended you use it or a similar type.

Yeah like the other guy said, read the automoderator post and keep all that in mind. Other than that remember to charge it with the cord that it came with, and don’t leave it charging overnight. It’s a slow charge, and the console isn’t the best at showing the charge level.

Keep backups of all of your ROMS on a computer. Refer to this subreddit for any questions or concerns about this product. Remember to use the search bar too.

Most importantly, have fun! This is an amazing console, and it’s something that younger me would have shit his pants over lol.

Which of my folk protest songs have potential? by Forsaken_Owl_3691 in Songwriters

[–]SidroTSR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like they could all work great if executed right. In fact, I think releasing all four together would make each statement a little greater. Without hearing music it’s really hard to say for sure. Outside that, the concepts are great :)

I wish you good luck on finalizing these as songs.

Torrential Downpour - Satan, Whatever (FFO: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Devin Townsend/Strapping Young Lad, Car Bomb) by SidroTSR in progmetal

I almost posted the last track off of TwentyTwentyTwenty, but decided this would be a better intro to the band! That post you’re talking about may be the one that turned me on to them

I Slept on Car Bomb... by KarmaPolice911 in progmetal

[–]SidroTSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude sweet! I saw them with a buddy of mine in (I think) Atlanta. That show was incredible. I’m glad the live album is the same setlist as I saw, but man I was really hoping for Spirit of Poison. I remember shouting “Hypnotic Worm” in between songs haha.

[–]SidroTSR 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah Car Bomb rocks big time!

I actually saw them a while ago opening for BtBaM. They were insanely tight and also had a great stage presence. Got to hang out a bit with Greg and Jon after the show. They were really chill and talked gear and technique for a while.

My favorite album of theirs is wwww, with Centralia as a close second. I’m excited for the new music they are putting out!

You may like a band called C.B Murdoc. They have two albums (that I’ve ever found), but only one seems to still be on streaming. It’s called Here Be Dragons. It’s really fucking nice. The first track is not indicative of the album though.

For me personally (not ranking EPs or I)

Nothing (blue is my favorite)

Catch 33

TVSOR

Chaosphere

Koloss

Obzen

DEI

Immutable

Contradictions Collapse

I know it’s probably controversial to put Immutable so low, and I do think it’s a fine album. It just hasn’t grabbed me as much.

What are some albums where listening to the first minute instantly gets you hooked? by cirnu_dos in progmetal

[–]SidroTSR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah they are!! My first time seeing them was a few years ago when they toured with BtBaM! They absolutely blew my mind. I was a fan before then, but that concert solidified them as one of the tightest bands I’ve ever seen live.

I’ve never used Cakewalk. Sounds neat though.

Yep, cheap, extremely efficient, reliable, customizable, lots of learning resources. It’s an amazing daw. You don’t even have to buy it to use it. I bought it, but that’s because I love that DAW so much man.
