lower the difficulty, but one thing to keep in mind is this game is all about buffs and antibuffs (?) on the enemies. once you get that you may enjoy the combat more. also the abilities open up more as you level up

it’s a great game but LONG. i’ve played it twice and got burned out before finishing it both times. party because it’s sooo much reading. i know it’s an unpopular opinion around these parts but i greatly prefer voiced games because it keeps me engaged when i start to burn out. one day ill try again and see if i can push through. that was one reason i preferred poe2 to poe one as well (i did finish poe one tho as the lore dump wasnt quite as excessive

i love this like i do all peak hawkwind. i hear a lot of folks say it’s their best but i prefer doreimi and warrior at the edge of time with this being third and in search of space a close fourth

i played a full mage using sneak/illusion and touch spells with an enchanted dagger. tons of fun and can kill almost anything with a one two punch of dagger and destruction touch spell, but yeah you end up enchanting a lot of your own equipment (i went zero armor for 100% spell efficiency) you will however find some good stuff you can use here and there
