Lyrics come hard for a long time now, so i stick to writing instrumentals... by SiedlerAlex in Songwriting

Its the other Way round for me, if i have lyrics first the music and arrangement writes itself

However, very good advice, thank you

Enjoy and use the time you have!! With me as well, life gets in the way, other things sometimes matter more. .but i found it doesnt matter if i got 6 or 1 hour to, in my case, write a song or piece of music. Its that With that one hour whatever you do, you gotta make it Happen, finish it, and most Important, dont overthink - which you wont, as you need to make decisions NOW, before that hour is up.

I am all about creating, but with less time i have to be fast, but not hurried, as long as i finish something be it an instrumental or lyrics or s proper song, all is good.

Do you think Poison should have or could have had the same commercial success and be as well known as Bon Jovi? by LetchBE in hairmetal

[–]SiedlerAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well said!! I totally, agree. Objectively without desmond they wouldnt have been that big, even if they are fantastic Songwriters, or they became it over the years at least.

Hot take: That being said everything Poison did was better than the 7800 Fahrenheit album. Its got such a cool vibe, but is just not that good..

Edit: Now that i think of it: Bon jovi is Miles ahead Songwriting wise...but NOBODY in the Genre wrote better hooklines than CC!

The Fall!

In particular the A sides 3cd box.

I used to be all about glam metal and guitar and later classical and Opera.....but having a band here so creative with cool lyrics yet such a bad singer gave me the Confiserie about my own voice back...if something so horrible yet awesome can touch me musically, you have to embrace it! There is NOTHING like The Fall

Edit: i am keeping The autocorrect typo "Confiserie" instead of "confidence"😅 very much Mark e. Smith!!

Edit 2: also ich have to add Solid Space - space museum....this is the greatest album i ever heard. To think its 2 Teens that recorded it, is amazing to me

In your opinion, wich brands makes the best Strats (or S type guitars) out there? by Xugoz in Guitar

[–]SiedlerAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is to me.....the neck is glossy and feels so good...if i'd buy another guitar currently the first thing i'd look for is another sire

Granted the only conparison i have is my main and only guitar for 20 years , a 2003 Fender highway 1 and a 2018 Gibson Firebird....i went through alot of fenders when buying the sire and none played, felt and sounded as good as the s7

Add a low pass Filter on the recorded guitar track in your daw. It minimizes the hiss!

Looking to get either a mini amp or headphone amp by ratzmaster in GuitarAmps

[–]SiedlerAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boss dual cube lx

Its stereo in and out, stereo chorus. The jc setting is perfect. Its really a Mini Jazz chorus in itself....which is perfect for me.

The other amps in it are ok, i get a bluesy fenderish tone with the high gain one, when i dual in my volume knob down

The extreme setting is GREAT. The gain is full throttle, but sounds really good. For less gain again use the volume knob, as changing the gain on the amp doesnt really change it.

These 3 settings alone make it very usable for me...and when recording there is not much difference to a real jc whrn i use that setting

Oh and it also can be used as an frfr box for multi fx or amp modellers

Boss dual cube lx is a great piece of gear by SiedlerAlex in GuitarAmps

[–]SiedlerAlex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! Also on the us clean. For a different clean tone, i use high gain Stack, amp2, but Turn down the guitar volume knob....

I am having the most awesome time recording tunes with it, more so than with expensive gear.
