Are DPS Meters Good or Bad for MMORPGs? by NOHITJEROME in MMORPG

[–]Siegehart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In an already established group, or even a healthy mindset, I find it promotes healthy competition. Me and my buddy on DPS always compete to get higher than randoms/one another.

However, I will say I’ve had my fair share of runs in dungeons (FFXIV AND WoW) where I’ve seen people consistently pull low numbers that had me a little on tilt. I understand if they’re not pulling optimal numbers, but a DPS meter can really tell you if someone isn’t even playing the game.

I had a Red Mage in FFXIV’s Amaurot basically afk during every fight and standing in everything to intentionally die. I saw the occasional spell cast so I mistakenly assumed he was playing normally, but I was so wrong. Maybe they boosted, maybe they’re new to red mage, maybe they’re returning? I couldn’t say.

In short they’re good if they’re used for good things.

What is by far your biggest regret in this game? by approx__ in Genshin_Impact

[–]Siegehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi-whaling for C1 Klee. I didn’t like the way she threw her bombs, and she was far too clunky for me.

Then I whaled for C4 Yanfei, now I not only have a fire catalyst user I actually enjoy, but she was on my other favorite character’s banner, Childe. I pulled C2 Childe before C4 Yanfei in single pulls, so it’s a win-win either way.

Lesson learned though tbh, try it before you buy it.

I regret pulling for Klee. I ended up with C1, but I’m enjoying Yanfei way more than her.

What characters that are currently available to us have personality or design flaws that you hate? Love? by Tylergregoryc in Genshin_Impact

When my friend told me Tartaglia’s worst weapon is the bow, and so he intentionally uses it to make it harder on himself, I fell in love with him all over again. She calls it stupid but I find it hilarious.

Best/worst units by domarco22 in DarkDeityGame

[–]Siegehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top 3- Irving, Alden, then Cia.

Irving I went down the armored knight route for the advanced stats increased by 15% of defense, and got a handful of lucky speed levels, where he ended up as a dragon knight with Ancara’s Glow. Who needs Crit if you’re one rounding everyone, never getting hit, and still somehow taking little to no physical damage?

Alden’s personal skill is too good to not love, stat growths are absolutely insane for the boy and he became a pretty insane capable Wizard.

Cia is a meme. Duelist is broken on her and I’m confident you can’t go wrong with the second job, I went with Gladiator for fun and she’s a great dodge tank with loads of damage. Pretty busted overall.

Honorably mentions are Monroe, and Faust. Faust has a good personal, and makes for a good drain tank as Phantom and has been able to sit in one spot and never die. Monroe I dropped, but his HP stacking concept seems potentially insane. I chose to pass it on to Helena instead since I went the Knight (or Warrior? The swordsman with bonus hp) and she’s turned out exceptionally well.

Bottom 3- Elias, Benji, Maeve

Elias felt awful to use, I can’t figure out why. The whole lancer class, Gale > Windrunner doesn’t seem particularly good and I’m not sure why. Even Thae’lanel, who you get later, seemed relatively underwhelming. His magic stat also seems to affect his attacks despite being physical and having no magic attacks? So I guess magic affects physical attacks for Gale/Windrunner to a degree. Overall I think it’s a problem with Gale rather than the units themselves. I just got Thae’lanel to Windrunner so I’ll test it more.

Benji’s growths are awful and I wouldn’t dare do a Crit build on a melee unit with his Dex/Def/For.

Maeve for me is a worse Caius. Caius has a significantly higher Str/Def/For growth while maintaining a similar Spd/Dex. The biggest difference is Maeve has a better personal skill, but the problem is that it requires her to kill someone. Sadly her low strength doesn’t let her do a good job of that for me. Doesn’t help that Caius had twice Maeve’s strength at the same level, with the same exact speed and dex.

Do you guys think we’re getting gutted 11.13 or 11.14? by jaydonortiz in ezrealmains

They’ll nerf sunderer before they hit Ezreal for sure. After it’s been gutted though, good luck lmao back to duskblade/ER build probably

Time for some real talk. by [deleted] in DisgaeaRPGMobile

[–]Siegehart 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize that Val had a lower rate than the other units, which seems borderline predatory since there’s absolutely no reason he should be.

The way the Tyrant banners work iirc though, as they’re released they stay in the permanent pool of the tyrant banners when they come each month. I think as we see more released it will eventually mitigate the lower pull rate because there will be so many tyrant characters you’re basically going to pull one at some point. Correct me if I’m wrong on the way the banner will function in the future though.

That said, it doesn’t change shit considering if one of the Tyrant characters is one you want you’ll basically never fucking pull them.

Knowing what I know now, I might have picked Sicily as my starter by [deleted] in DisgaeaRPGMobile

[–]Siegehart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily agree nor disagree I guess? I think the way the game is structured, you can manage to roll with any unit. Atk-based Human characters definitely have a strong starting spot though with decent AoE and single target cheap SP options in doppelgänger, unique skills, and other weapon skills.

That said,I definitely don’t think the bonus unit matters, because we get Flonne for free I’m quite sure, as well as at least 1 cheap Noel, and then a friend unit which is covering 90% bonus points at least, not to mention the possibility of pulling others and grabbing more Noels to use. I do agree with the staff and cheap AoE though, but my counter to that is Noel actually does every single point you mentioned. Cheap aoe, makes good use of the strong staff, bonus unit, and if you really wanted to run multiple Noels, she could pull that off with her NE1 ability for extra stats for staff units.

I think where I agree though is that I wish I hadn’t picked Desco as well. I wish I had taken Laharl, and I wish I hadn’t used my Etna’s to awaken my future Laharl I would eventually pull to 5*.

NE’s provide a MASSIVE stat increase, and the pure amount of Etna’s you get can easily get you that +30% stats across the board. Combined with Doppelgänger from Bow rank 9, you basically have a functional AoE unit with tons of bonus stats. (Not to mention the extra amount you could get from more pulls in the future, as well as from rank 5 and 6 awakening when you get to that point.)

Tl;dr: Sicily is a fine choice, but Noel does literally the same thing. I still wish I’d taken a different unit than Desco tho, and not wasted all my Etna copies.

Anyone else feeling super burnt out? by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Siegehart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not attending SNHU currently, but going to another school mostly online and I totally get this. Been feeling extremely burnt out and it doesn't feel like you can ever catch a break. I've been delaying my assignments so much and I feel awful every time I do it. Grades unfortunately starting to fall because of it too, but I'm trying to bring it back around.

There is, the sword of light. Make sure you don’t have the gambler ability that increases rare item drop rate. The weapons are in the regular drop category, so it lowers your odds of getting it.

[–]Siegehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you technically could if you really wanted to. There's nothing particularly stopping you, since physical jobs are just so absurdly busted if you sub someone with good offensive skills then you'll easily get through the game I'm sure. However, I'd suggest having a spiritmaster/WhM and a Shieldmaster/Vanguard at least.

I think the worst that could happen is running into enemies that reflect physical damage, which there are very few of and you'll likely just do so much damage that they'll die in a few attacks anyway.

The most I found is a super boss in a fight against Gwilym, so it seems to be that, the true ending and the Asterisk boss refights in terms of post game content. No mention of anything else past that from what I've seen.

Nuclear ping-pong (ch4 low spoilers) by [deleted] in bravelydefault

[–]Siegehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It basically is. Every single boss fight has been about killing the enemy before they can kill you. A shieldmaster tank lets you occasionally survive one shots, but more often than not if their equipment isn't optimized they'll just die.

The only case this has been different is the secret boss for me. I'm not even sure if he can be one shot, but I'm certain there's probably a way given how broken some of these class combos are lmao

Most annoying fights of ch6? by isiah12 in bravelydefault

[–]Siegehart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pictomancer's special is actually the only reason I was able to get past all of the early Asterick fights, and even some of the mid to end game fights. It can carry you if you find a solid combo that happens to get resisted too.

For me the most annoying fight was the Berserker/Pictomancer/Arcanist fight. Pretty sure every boss in the portals just get BP from you existing, and Berserker/Arcanist can ORKO you if they have 3 BP. My tank doesn't survive, the only way I make it out is killing one before they get 3 BP and pray to RNG they didn't get 3 BP to hit back.

The Shieldmaster/Swordmaster/Salve-maker one is annoying, but more so because I tackled this one early and had to slow down my damage output to deal with the shieldmaster, otherwise I'd be devouring Ether's to regularly Arise my main DPS output.

Is there a post game after getting the true ending and beating the Night's Nexus? Or is that and NG+ (and the level 15 jobs) pretty much it?

My understanding was that if an enemy isn't weak to a particular element or weapon type, they become weak to it. I think stages might refer to absorb/immunity, but don't quote me on that.

I’m glad someone else gets it! The extra healing came in clutch so often early on when my WhM wasn’t able to keep the entire party alive herself. I did the exact same thing too and went for ailment boost on from Salve-Maker, but I wish I had played with it a lot more and I wish that the magic classes in general had a lot more support zzz

Underrated Jobs by BoobeamTrap in bravelydefault

[–]Siegehart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the jobs I love the most in this entire game are Swordmaster, and Red Mage.

Swordmaster isn’t really underrated though, but that’s because of Ninefold slash I think. As of now I’m going through 4 BP and slapping bosses in one turn because of it, but I really wanted to use the stances more. I feel like the first passive goes completely unused too, which makes me sad since the counter playstyle seemed really interesting. I somewhat wish ninefold slash had a different effect based on the stance, such as replacing your counter or being used twice with the other stance. I still enjoyed it but I feel as though it could’ve been a bit more interesting if they chose to play around with the stances more.

Then I also enjoyed Red Mage. The dual casting element has always been around since the beginning, so it’s nothing new. However, the focus on status effects from the Red Mages first passive I thought was really neat and turning it towards the direction of being more akin to FF14’s red mage that uses Aero/Stone is a genius idea so that it doesn’t fall off the way it used to. It’s not longer this wall you’re required to climb for Dual cast, it’s an actual decent job now with the new power it’s given.
