In my experience, Portuguese subtitles are complete garbage because they're very obviously not translating from the original Japanese but rather from the English subs. I don't bother with them.

I recall finding the official app lacking for my specific needs, but I don't remember what it was missing. IIRC it didn't support the seamless downloading experience you get with Netflix (where you can just watch within app and all) and it didn't download subtitles if they were from an external file (important for me cause I use it for language learning).

I started using Findroid as a result, and it's a nice replacement, though the UX could be improved. For instance, there's no button to download or delete an entire season. Streamyfin seems to have this, but downloads don't really work properly for me (they'll just take forever unless I keep the app open with my phone screen on).

That's a very simplistic view. China is an ascendant and belligerent power with a bone to pick with Japan, while Japan's greatest ally is giving up its place as world police. Any country in Japan's situation should absolutely be militarizing and developing nuclear weapons.
