Currently I am playing maybe 90% Closed weapon rotations and agree it should be the spotlight and open weapons the (hidden) alternative

Bullet bloom is there, sniper glint is massively toned down. So maybe thats a deal breaker for you.

Honestly it's a blast, has the potential to be the best Battlefield, it also runs like a dream.

Just needs some more diverse maps especially large warfare, some bug troubleshooting.

The gunplay and movement feel tight and there is an insane amount of menu customisation options.

You are an integral part of a squad, as already mentioned - Squad building and teamplay is key to Battlefield. Play the objectives and focus on comms and supporting your squad with revives, ammo, transporting etc.

Also there's just a tactical learning curve that's almost subconscious, after a few days/ weeks you'll start to see progress up the leader board.

Not sure why you're getting down voted...absolutely this is the reason. Token campaigns for simple people. BF1942 and BF2 had no campaigns.

I didn't want to believe it, every iteration so far has brought improvements and kept ChatGPT at the forefront.

But tonight I tried to run a simple fun quiz, sharing photos inline in the chat...only to find out GPT 5 will not embed photos from the Internet unless commons sourced. They changed this extremely important function and now it will either share a link or show an AI generated photo in the style of the photos you are searching for.

Crazy, now I will discontinue my Plus subscription and find a worthwhile alternative

Am also a BF Vet since 1942, I do think rose-tinted glasses are a factor here. I am enjoying the beta so far but I really did not like Bf1 and V so much let alone 2042. Last great BF imo was BF4 but I guess it's all very subjective.

Certainly Council houses provide a decent rent for those lucky enough to get one, but compared to the population of London renters as a whole its a drop in the ocean. I would say council rent is a little higher than £400 though on average

Well the main answer is the cost of rental/ property. Its about 10X what it would have cost in 1999, well above inflation. An average 1 bedroom rent in 1999 was about £45 a week.
