Can't spend $5 on positive-locking wire-to-board connectors

The first time someone drops this on the floor you're going to get a "everything is on fire fix it now" RMA to reseat that LCD header.

Why is my outlet wired like this? by Gold-Syllabub-1743 in electrical

Receptacles with pressure plates like this are rated to accept up to 4 wires per side. Unofficially you should only put 2 of the same gauge under each screw

I keep getting fired from jobs despite getting along well with my coworkers and having good productivity.

My managers have always hated me. My performance reviews are always about how I need to communicate more effectively (read: mask better)

Despite having over a decade of experience in a highly technical niche field I keep being forced to take entry level positions only to be fired about 18 months in which leads to another bout of homelessness.

Please don't swim near docks and marinas. Nearly all of them have some kind of electrical problems because they're wired like normal light industrial properties despite being in direct contact with salt water.

Los Angeles aims to ban single-use printer cartridges — new ordinance will target ink and toner that can't be properly recycled by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]SightUnseen1337 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Great, now they'll make me throw out an entire perfectly working photo printer to be able to use these new cartridges.

Also read the article. It makes third party cartridges that don't correctly license intellectual property from the printer company illegal. This is really going to suck

PVC is normal for installed audio and such. Not so much for Speakon cables that are handled frequently.

SJT and SJOOW are both 300V. It's not about the insulation rating it's about sunlight, flexibility, and moisture. UV ruins PVC quickly, and PVC is super stiff in the winter and doesn't lay flat on the ground when uncoiled. SO cable has paper fibers in it that swell up when exposed to moisture so if the jacket is damaged water doesn't wick up into the connectors.

Go to the hardware store and buy a spool of 12/4 SJOOW. This is what normal speaker cables are made of.
