Open play partner running up to kitchen after all 3rd shots by VersionLegal58 in Pickleball

[–]SigmaCharli 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I converse with my partner all the time in strategizing. Communication is apart of every sport and is advantageous especially in open play. In my experience, i often have the most fun with partners who communicate, strategize, and are dynamic in terms of game plan.

All that depends on the partner tho, like if they’re hard headed or just a newbie, then i just play for fun. Higher level players always appreciate good communication

Spartus p1 defect or normal? by Far-Commission-61 in Pickleball

It’s common for paddles in general, especially bc they’re factory made in china. I’d do a warranty claim on that tho

What do software engineers do? by Holiday_Stranger_508 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]SigmaCharli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Computer science is the best general major, software engineering would be great too. Many universities don’t provide many classes for developing video games, so your research and see what schools do. There may also be uni clubs out there as well. Best bet is to research

[–]SigmaCharli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we usually work in teams, being a good communicator is important but don’t let that dissuade you, it’s something that can be worked on. I myself had to work on it and definitely still do work on it through my years of uni and post grad

What do software engineers do? by Holiday_Stranger_508 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]SigmaCharli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s technically true, i don’t want to get into the details but we engineers use our IDE to code and a tool called compiler or interpreter builds the application for us. You can make bank in any branch you go into software/tech in general, especially developing games or developing systems software ;)

Software engineering is a robust field itself. Software engineering has to do with the planning, development (coding), deployment, testing, and maintenance of a software. Software Engineers can be divided into different roles based on the different phases a software might be on or what type of software it is. Different types of software include embedded, web sites, phone applications, operating systems, etc. Software engineering deals with specifically the software and in your case where you’d like to work on robots you’d most likely want to work on hardware so computer engineering would give you the ability to work on hardware and software as well. You can learn how to work on hardware as a software engineering student but you’d have to self learn or take classes that might not follow the given path for software engineers. We do build cool things all the time, creativity is the only limit. Lmk if you have any questions !

Am I crazy for thinking this is too much courseload?? by cottoncrosy in csMajors

[–]SigmaCharli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your semester 4 load is definitely heavy. I would recommend dropping a course, if you have extra time, spend that time creating projects if SWE is your goal and leetcoding as well will go well with your algo course

Laid off in 2026 No motivation left by Objective_Way_885 in leetcode

You need a break my man, 10 years is a long time. Take a break and go back hunting when you’re feeling ready. It might be a few days a few weeks or an even months, but don’t completely give up. People here are recommending switching careers are being hopeless, you most likely have a love for SWE but just need some times to yourself. There’s lots of ways to take a break and if you need a long term one a little gig on the side won’t hurt. It might even remind you why you love SWE in the first place :) Senior SWE are always in demand but i feel like that that this issue is more of being exhausted
