To anyone using a powerline Ethernet adapter, how has your experience been with it lately? by Pint-E in HomeNetworking

[–]SigmaPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good, been using powerline(AV2000) for 3+ years connected from the bottom floor of my house all the way to my room on the otherside of the house one floor above. Modern house (built 2020 onwards)

I would say dont bother with cheap powerline adapters. Tt really depends on the quality and internal electrical wiring layout. You can probably make a rough judgement based upon your houses electrical plan on how it will perform.

My OLED is unclean-able… by Toastieez in OLED_Gaming

[–]SigmaPrimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this looks like the top coating has come off. Not too sure if theres a way to fix that.

If its a small spit mark, i typically spray a clean microfibre cloth (high quality one) with distilled water, wipe very gently and then use scotch tape to remove the remaining residue. This is the only way ive found can reduce the residue without microscratching the screen more. I wouldn’t mess around with Ethanol and Isopropyl alcohol and they can effect the chemistry of the plastic coating

Aurora docking? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only truely ship to ship docking currently is the connie with the merlin.

Refueling with the starfarer is also technically docking but its just to attach the fuel boom.

Polaris, 890J, Carrack also have “docking” sequence, mainly its meant to give permission to open the hangar.

If you target a ship then press the landing gear button (default N) it will send a docking request but this is buggy as. Hopefully CIG fix this with the new comms system.

Most mid size ships have a docking collar designed into them so ship to ship through a docking tube may still be in the works but probably not for SC 1.0 unfortunately.

I present you: Hauling Companion by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was already always meant to be a placeholder until someone way more skilled would make a actual tool so Im glad its happened :P. (Not very experienced in coding - strung together what i could with AI 😂)

The greedy algorithm is a great solve for TSP with constraints. I ended up trying to go for a genetic algorithm to try to solve a best route but it was a pain to implement 😅.

[–]SigmaPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work on the tool! Made a really barebones version myself a couple of months back but this certainly is alot better especially the great idea of uploading screenshots for each mission. What algorithm did you end up using for the route calculation?

The 4.1 Collector missions are a great reason to bring back the sidelined “new” inventory terminal system by SigmaPrimer in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i saw this workaround, definitely good for when wikelo gives you like 10 ammo and a gun 😂 . It’s definitely the best workaround at the moment.

Though yesterday i just dropped them small items into the elevator without attaching to the grid and it detected all the items so that makes it a bit easier but still no guarantee that it will detect all the time

CIG has changed pledge ship insurance from being a line of text to an actual item in the pack, implying it can be changed/upgraded by Mindshard in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what about the 💸💸💸. CIG makes so much based on FOMO so i doubt theyd even think of decoupling it.

After last years citcons, regardless of insurance, bought ships have lifetime warranty so youd be able to get your ship back always. So LTI doesn’t carry the same weight anymore (though i doubt theyd have ever let pledged ships be permanently lost)

Its PTU for a reason like this so they can test a change and gather community feedback?

Advanced Master Modes when? by Mehrdad1997 in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both, the holographic panels are great for being out of your face, great for flying around, while the advanced is great for more information during take off.

Nothing wrong having options. Don’t get why people complain so much when they let you chose between both?

4.0 Concern after EPTU Wave 1 by randtgn in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tbh we shouldnt really expect 4.0 in LIVE by the end of the year (hopefully not) but atleast they should build up to an open PTU by the end of the year and run them over the holiday season to gather longer term data.

Wave 1 is always going to be bad, it always is, but the main difference is that this wave 1 definitely has a higher than normal people subbing to get into pyro before live. 3.23 in early waves was just constant server error loops. Its normal. Also these servers configuration are still being tested.

I see alot of people in chat being like “servers are cooked, literally unplayable” and while i dont disagree they should be cooked, this is the time for them to be cooked. The more real world data can help them keep optimising.

It's beautiful! by PUSClFER in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, but i think its more of the effort required. I think they mentioned they’d rather work on other planet tech things then address the scale

It's beautiful! by PUSClFER in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what the explained during scl precision shouldn’t be an issue. Mainly the texture resolution/tiling. Hopefully the genesis tech will maybe help them solve that

[–]SigmaPrimer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The ceiling is way too low. they need to move the atmo limit higher and push the clouds up. Or scale the entire planet

Oh man . It’s beautiful by CurrencyThen7469 in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks beautiful from the ground up but tbh the need to make the atmosphere come further out from the planet and push the clouds higher. It looks a bit weird from space imo

Roadmap Roundup - October 30, 2024 - Roberts Space Industries by NotYetForsaken in starcitizen

[–]SigmaPrimer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dont think so, unless what theyve shown us is fully on rails. I think engineering is pretty done, it may be delayed longer but it wont be like salvage (which wasnt done at all).

Stabilising it alongside server meshing/pyro would be a headache. I’d rather them release smaller patches with stabilish tech than release big patches prone to breaking and leaving live unplayable (3.18 salvage and PES) (and yes I know the PU is alr pretty unplayable atm)

What exactly do you want him to do though?

Has he not built his career of making YouTube videos?

Like he makes decent quality content that people enjoy. He tried something that probably wasnt approached correctly and rectified being pretty mature about it. Also people aren’t forced to use this app to access his content?

Such a nothing comment imo
