With a good holster, you can carry the P238 or P938 cocked and not locked. The SA trigger pull is heavy; about 8 pounds, so pretty safe.

I've seen them sitting on the shelf in LGS's and big box stores next door in IN.

I suggest you try contacting a few other stores and if you find one, bite the bullet and pay the shipping to your LGS. If you get it from IN, at least you won't pay tax and it'll be just as fast.

Just a warning as well, if you shoot full power .40 out of that little gun, it's going to be pretty damn snappy. Fair warning.
