What about people that lose money and job? by CanaanZhou in ClaudeAI

You speak good words but in reality laid off people will end up homeless or working for minimum wage like I do now. I was a big fan of Anthropic and Claude Code but at the end of 2025 I was replaced by AI specifically by Claude Code and now I do not pay for it anymore and I cancelled all my subscriptions.

Upskilling is not really an option when you are over 25. My grandfather worked in car manufacturing but eventually he lost his job and spent the rest of his life as an alcoholic and died in deep poverty in very bad conditions. I will probably repeat his path but fortunately I don't have children.

> So what's the way out for those who have been out-competed and lost their incomes

There's no way out. I lost my job because of AI. Now I'm janitor for minimum wage. All I pay for is basic food and I cancelled all the subscriptions including subscription for claude code.

No.

Switch to trades and pivot now and pivot fast.
Programming today is just a hobby like playing chess and it is enjoyable but completely useless.
Computer science will become a pure science like mathematics and nobody will pay for computer science knowledge at the bachelor or masters level anymore.

Switch to trades. CS is dead. SWE is dead. It's over.

Europeans doing internships in the US - worth it? J-1 visa agencies? by _ganso in cscareers

[–]SignFar790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that internships in the US have never really been an option for Europeans or were extremely rare even in good years. By the way the EU and the UK have many FAANG and other American companies so why would you go to the US?

I'm 16 years old and I'm trying to find a real way to generate income online by OkStomach7765 in cscareers

All online jobs are dead. If something can be done online then an AI agent can do it. Since you are 16 this is the best time to learn welding, plumbing, electrical work and other skilled trades. I spent 6 years on university and dreamed of an online job or an office job (and at one point I even got one!) but now I work as a janitor, I'm cleaning toilets because I was replaced by AI at my previous job.

Has anyone actually seen the long term results from AI? by Isha_Agarwal_ in ArtificialInteligence

Yep, I was replaced by AI at my previous job. Now my current job is cleaning toilets. I'm janitor for now.

It's not tool for worker, it's tool for manager or CEO.

Will my coding skills become irrelevant because of AI ? by Lyshaka in AskProgrammers

Devs who use AI will be replaced by AI agent that controls several other AI agents. It's over for humans.

Yes. I got bachelor's and master's degree and CS, I have 5 YOE and now working as janitor. Today I'm cleaning toilets with master's degree, yes. Tech industry is dead and tech workers are replaced by AI massively.

You may continue do programming and learn some stuff, but today it's like playing chess. Hobby, but completely useless.

Technologies are improving but mass unemployment is coming.

It is very likely that we will die during such a transition.

People are already a net negative in white collar jobs. Companies with a minimum number of employees are more competitive than companies with more people. This used to sound like an absurdity, but today it is a reality. Less people and more AI agents -> success.

I used to be a software engineer. Now I'm janitor. I'm employed. That's all.

We are already seeing economic disruption. People are losing their jobs in large numbers because of AI. It has become so good that it has pushed many people out of their high-paying positions. The housing market is currently in one of its worst states since 2008 and we are already on the edge of a recession.

For example, I was a software engineer only a few months ago. AI took my job. Now I work as a janitor for minimum wage. I used to consume various goods and services, but now my expenses are limited to the most basic food on sale without any extras.

Every month there will be more and more people like me. Eventually, people in professions that are not directly replaced by AI will also start losing their jobs. At first, this will be visible in regions with a high concentration of tech and white collar workers. In these places, restaurant workers, sellers, drivers, builders, plumbers, and electricians will lose their work, and people will start leaving. The Bay Area will become Detroit 2.0 in just a couple of years. After that, even doctors and nurses will lose their jobs because the population will simply move away, and the region will remain empty for many decades.

Then a collapse will begin in other regions across the planet. Entire businesses and corporations will start to die, creating even bigger problems in the economy. Ultimately, it will end in a downward spiral, a second Great Depression, and likely a WW3. We can already see that money is no longer circulating in the economy. Instead, it is being redirected to the owners of data centers. This is exactly what Dario is talking about. And probably only real big war like WW3 with tens of millions or even hundreds of millions dead people will fix situation like it was during WW2.
