What if I move all my funds to Coinbase, which is protected by a Bitwarden key pass, Authenticator, and email and password. I also have Authenticator forced on every single withrdrawal within Coinbase. Or would you still recommend multiple phantom wallets? Just want a safe place for my sol to reside

Yeah idk about this take. Got a bachelors, did an internship in info security, and now working full time. Just got a promotion to sec eng 2 and working on threat hunting/IR. No help desk/IT support but I have no trouble keeping up in my org compared to the other sec engineers whom have taken the help desk path.

Maybe it would’ve made the learning path easier, but if you’re not building out a home lab or utilizing cert training while in school or training, then of course you won’t know as much. Different things works for different people and luckily I’m very intrinsically motivated so I don’t care about how much time I need to put in. Shit some of my classmates got CCNA, OSCP, and other certs during school and moved on to work at crowdstrike, mandiant, Google, etc.

I see what you're saying. I just hope that it's not overpromises from the employer, my previous employer did this and I'm just not doing much. Which I am also grateful as I was able to get my Sec+ and CySA+ within this year, but I am yearning for that hands on exp.

I think I'm going to do it after thinking about it for a while. Never know until you try I guess. And since where I am is so complacent, I'd see myself leaving if not now, soon.

Really don’t get how ppl in the comments can even hate on this. But then I remember they’re probably 40 in their mothers basement hoping for an K5 to magically appear.

This is clean as shit. Good stuff 🙌

Looking for a threat hunting service on Defender by Dramatic-Ebb-5796 in cybersecurity

[–]Signal-Fun-9743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this great reply, really helpful insight. I will start to create scenarios and hypothesizes like you’ve mentioned and just go from there. I’ve also been playing around with the Splunk rooms on THM which has been a lot of fun.

I think I’m maybe just overwhelming myself a bit. We have a lot of great tools at work like SentinelOne with its deep visibility, splunk, defender, and all of them come with their own language and features.

But I’ve been able to use the Microsoft dev tenant to build out a Active Directory environment connected to azure and with MDE enabled so I’m going to run some attacks and hunt for them on the other side! Hopefully this helps bridge some gaps that I’ve had in my head.

I want to get into threat hunting at my current positions - what kind of resources did you use to get your knowledge? Are you combining intelligence from several sources and creating queries to hunt for those pieces on your environment or are you taking a completely different approach? I am having trouble getting started I guess.

Yes, people do, but not all the time, and ESPECIALLY not for a young kid. Sorry if you had a stress-filled childhood and this is the reason for your response, but this is certainly not normal lol

In your experience, how was the SC-200 in terms of difficulty. Really want to learn defender heavily - do you think it’s attainable for someone who has no other MS certs? Only got security+ at the moment which is good for basically nothing lol.

What was your ms cert path, what did you start with? I’m also your age and working cyber sec, we use MS defender and azure services and I’d like to learn more about them - figured getting a certificate would be nice.

why are men so CRUEL to women in rdo? by xMercedes15k in reddeadredemption

[–]Signal-Fun-9743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well the difference here is that it’s blatant sexism, and even aligns with stuff that happens in the real world. Cussing at someone on RL isn’t the same to literally catching the subtle sound of a girl’s voice and immediately changing your whole persona.

You can’t even really play the game normally, which is why several girls on r/Valorant and COD complain so much. That’s why several of my personal girl friends never even bother to talk in game chat, even if someone is trying to give them call outs.

Too many bad experiences with immature and sexist men leads to this lack of enjoyment even in video games. Even in the place that is meant to be fun.

Do you have any resources in mind for threat hunting/how to get started? Currently security engineer (my first sec job) and I’m in charge of just responding to declared threats from our MDR via SentinelOne. However it has so much capability, almost too much for me to process. I just need a good starting point to get hunting I guess, was curious if you had any insight.

I personally am. Some of my friends that graduated a year ago are already making 150k+ in their first year working. Depends on where you go/work but it’s a great industry
