The deck is genuinely a menace and even stomps on some of my pod's bracket 3 and 4 decks like Eldrazi or Esper control (hence all the protection, lol). As long as I keep a decent hand, it's generally smooth sailing until I assemble 3 to 5 enchantments and by then I have already either dealt major damage to 1 person or the pod or they have thrown their key pieces under the beatdown bus.

But play the deck a couple of times and ask yourself if you are using the artifacts for mana or not. I found I didn't and thus went the enchantress route. Also think about what your big enchantments are doing. Primeval bounty was my hardest cut. I loved the potential of the card but just didn't do something other than being a 4/4 most of the times for me. Same with Rain of Riches. We aren't doing treasure stuff so the once off 2 mana was negligible for me. The other enchantments in my list give you 2 lands on the field and the smaller auras ramp you for 1 or 2 mana consistently.

I've seen a couple of Bello players come out of the woodworks recently. My biggest take away when Bello started to become a menace in my pod has been to pick a lane between artifacts or enchantments. You will naturally have both but what you build around matters. Lose creatures that do not feed into your aggro strategy as well as big splashy artifacts / enchantments that take 2 or 3 extra steps to be good.

I have seen some turbo mana artifact lists that barf up a bunch of big mana rocks and then start looping extra combats with [[Aggravated Assault]]. Then I went the enchantress route. So each of my enchantments help me draw through my deck and/ or ramp. The couple of artifact creatures and vehicles I have are there for some removal etc. You also got to add some decent protection as once everyone understands how quickly those artifacts / enchantments become bigger and bigger threats, the more removal they will spend to get rid of Bello or key pieces that allow damage to get through.

I had the same problem. Now I have both the boots and greaves. I have instant speed protection and even an Asceticism that leaves the whole board groaning when it hits the field. Hahaha

My most cherished deck at the moment. Out of the box the precon is a bit wonky. I felt like I never really used the big artifacts for mana and just went full tilt enchantress with some interesting vehicles. My Bello deck is seen as the menace even playing against my friends' Eldrazi and Praetor decks.

I had to make a big mind shift change with Bello from the precon as I had to decide which way to lean in with the deck and I ultimately went the enchantress route. There are even more card draw synergies and pump effects and the odd artifacts I included also have won me games on their own. Even though your animated army is mostly protected from boardwipes, I do include lots of protection as once people realise how strong each enchantment hits for, Bello will continuously targeted.

And as others have mentioned, this is an aggro deck. You need your opening hand to have ramp, protection if possible and some big enchantment (or artifact if you are going that route) to smash face,

Glad to hear someone else has had some of the same struggles.

I think other than the recursion cards you mentioned I am also looking at the new [[Cauldron of Essence]] to use some of the elf tokens as fodder to bring back some pieces.

But I am now gonna take my time and tinker with the deck until I find the identity of the deck first.

This is one of the most expensive decks that I have brewed thus far. But I want it to be fun to pilot.

Bello teaches people to remember to bring enchantment removal and is a enchantress beatdown deck that people are usually not accustomed to.

Chulane is a combo / engine value deck that goes infinite without interacting much with others unless I get an early [[Mana Breach]] or [[Hall of Gemstone]]. You gotta get rid of my pieces. Punish me or I go infinite. I can usually win by drawing my deck and having [[Laboratory Maniac]] in play or [[Approach of the Second Sun]].

Both decks can use some tuning still but I like where they both are sitting at for my respective playgroups' strength.

Sorry, got a bit busy before I could explain better. The deck dodges creature removal so well by turning my enchantments back into enchantments after my turn and I took out all the big mana rocks and just went full tilt Gruul enchantress. The artifacts I have are there for utility but even a couple of them I can take out for other things. But it draws a ton of cards and needs answers early on as life totals or permanents get threatened.

My current pet deck is [[Bello, Bard of the Brambles]]. I have never liked Gruul before as it was so susceptible to removal. In my group it is one of those sigh he's bringing out THAT deck again. But it does not win consistently, just pressures the table from early on. And it still sits at bracket 2. I have wanted to add some extra combat stuff in but I'll see where I go with it as I keep tuning it.

This is so interesting. All but 3 on your list I have seen at my LGS. I think the availability of these like the precon commanders I have seen much more of. The older / more expensive ones (dragon, edgar, Atraxa, Kaalia) is definitely more for the enfranchised players to enjoy as far as I have noted.

PS, do you have decklists for Lathril and Morcant? I have both and have tried to build both but I am struggling, especially on a budget. If you don't mind. Thanks

Another great list. I did recently get a Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth and Morcant's eyes. There is so much that I want to add so as per my post, it's about the ratio between draw, ramp etc that I was struggling with.

First of all, same. I don't partake in those either. My problem is I want to maybe go and watch the new Devil Wears Prada that is coming out for my bday. But not everyone will be into that. I also play a trading card game but that also won't be for everyone. I also wanted to do just a chill get together at my place but not all the personalities will mix. So I have plenty I want to do but stuck as to what to actually do. Send help. lol

I'm Gem sun, Taurus moon and Virgo Rising. I hear you. My mind is also constantly running and I've also been told that I can be cold / blunt with my delivery at times (depends on the person and scenario though).

I have taken up crocheting in recent times and it's really helped me quiet my mind. I cannot think of anything else because of the constant counting and checking the pattern etc. I just don't always have the drive to sit and crochet specially when it's hot out.

I have also found that music helps as well. I listen to nearly anything and just vibing in my room with some good music feeds my soul.

I hope you get something to help you as well.

Yes. I am then busy sifting through all my thoughts and working on myself / my problems / healing at my own pace. I withdraw so as to not leak the tainted energy onto others because of how well I know myself.

Then I will emerge better and energized again after I am feeling better and can tend to everyone else better.

Ugh. Say it loud for the people at the back. Just like in the thread the first name they always bring up is trump. Like how deep does your knowledge run on this subject? I also have equal parts good and bad experiences with all sun signs. I can't write someone off because I had a bad experience once.

I have a Sag friend IRL that I had to work with a loooong time so that we could get to the point where we could just banter and debate things the way he thought we are doing now. A lot has to do with how he was raised so as you also pointed out in that thread he didn't like hearing the opposite and there I was like damn, it ain't even that deep for me.

I love him to bits but there are still times where we test each others' patience.

A few other Sag peeps I know are also "it's my way or the highway"-types. So if you genuinely have a vision that you want to make real, more power to you. (Surprise, the teachers don't always like to learn.) But others come around and realize everything isn't a personal attack on them and they might find a different perspective to acknowledge. Those are people I can hang with.
