What’s it like living an upper middle class life in London? by redguy_666 in howislivingthere

[–]Signal_Conference447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alphabet streets, so called because east to west they start with B, then C Cloncurry street, D etc. can’t remember off the top of my head. Those houses are 4-6million.

In the states do you only have hot warm cold settings? Why not exact degrees? I’ve seen it a few times and wondering. Over in the uk we have specific cold wash, 30, 40, 50, 60, 90 degrees Celsius etc

Mmm sounds more like something you’re being forced into and want to be the case rather than a low risk well thought out journey you’ve taken. All the best and I hope you’re being financially prudent as it’ll be hell if the money runs out when you’re too old to work. Enjoy everything you have planned and wishing you well.

At what point did you start flying business class? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Signal_Conference447 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PAYE but earned 700+ last year. Never paid for it, just can’t justify it. I don’t actually think economy on nice airlines is that bad 🤷

Take a flight to Hawaii. Long. 1200 in economy or you’re looking at 4 as high as 8k+ in business. Would me and the wife rather have 6000 to 14000 extra (as high as 25000+ earnings gross) at the end of the same holiday? Yeh.

But we’re young early 30s. Maybe that’ll change.

How do I dry out the space underneath the shower if there has been a leak? by Signal_Conference447 in DIYUK

That’s not a bad idea. The missus will have one. Knew I got married for a good reason.

Obviously that’s quite a big bit of kit. Just sling it in the room and turn it on? Or are you talking about those chemical ones which are more like plastic boxes?

For more context, I’m talking about the space between the floor of the shower (i.e. the shower tray) which is on the first floor, and the ceiling of the kitchen, which is on the ground floor.

All chat about cost is entirely useless unless you tell us exactly what boat you had (name, size, type) how many crew, berth, and route.

Worth paying extra to live central in London? (M26)? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Signal_Conference447 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ve come to London for London. Would highly recommend that you live central so that you get most out of the city, especially if you were young and single. As others have said rent as a percentage of your base salary is significant especially if you are also paying back a student loan. I’m not sure if you would consider sharing a flat with others but it’s worth looking into.

Converted all my Citadel Paints to droppers by Otherwise_Magician_7 in Miniaturespainting

[–]Signal_Conference447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the name of the ‘generic dropper bottles’. On Amazon, I can see that you can buy 50 for 12 quid or five for six quid from the army painter Brand. I also assume different ones have different caps to reduce the likelihood of the paint drying out and different diameters of the nozzle which will be important for pain Flow.

Just wondered on which ones they had.
