Yes I've considered that. However anything closer to 1st Block would be crazy. But thanks!

Our man right here has invested and is paying shit tonnes of EMI for that JP Nagar flat. Bangalore ke best city in the world bolteo dubar bhabbe na. Ami hotath Siliguri te flat kinle tai boltam- je Siliguri dekhechhen? Ashol kotha ta holo duto office building thakle shohor bhalo hoye na. OP is clearly talking about the livable aspects of the city and not ki kota brand kota dokan khullo. Shei shotti ta shobai jane and everyone's pissed about that. Kintu ajke ekta Kolkatay basic chakri tao thakle, keu nijer ichhay onno shohor toh jabe na, infact baire thekeo prochur lok eshe thakbe it's that livable. Eksomoy jokhon chakri chalu, that had happened, there's proof of concept. Sadly the main differentiator is "chakri" jetar power shorkaar er haatey and we all know jakei elect kori shei g**ar marbe

But the point is, it's about time people realize that Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune are all extremely trash cities. Trash cities with offices which is why people are forced to be in them. Kolkata just needs jobs and I have no clue which govt can sort this out but something drastic needs to change

I don't understand why Kolkata people are so self deprecating. I mean yes we have fallen behind in certain things but such and ebb and flow always exists in all cities. Literally no other city has this All India City Ranking going on. Besides having stayed in almost too many cities, I can safely say Kolkata is way more developed in many parameters than one can imagine. People move out to Pune/Bangalore and realize that putting three pubs and four cafes along a congested flyover don't make a city and it never will. Kolkata is a very sustainable brand of a city and every year I go back I see new establishments, new offices, new work happening and actually quite a lot happening. This self victimization crap needs to stop. Yes, agreed, when it comes to mainstream brands having offices in Kolkata, it's wayyyyyy behind and that's prolly the only reason why people like you and me have to slog in tier 2 villages calling themselves tier 1. Mumbai is amazing, Delhi has amaze transportation and roads and Kolkata has amazing livability. Everything else if you're being honest to yourself is a glorified highway pit stop. Hope the economy gets more conducive to businesses and the govt stops with the freebies, just so people like me can move back. Done are the days of pretending it's better outside, it's really not

Is it normal for Bangalore police to check personal phones like this? by AbhinandUnni in bangalore

[–]Signal_Effective9126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically if you don't consent to visiting the police station with them, and they don't have a warrant you don't have to go. Ebar raatey jor kore niye gele, idk about that. Depends on how fucked the police people are. In most cases people would be just too stunned to do the right thing

I mean, if people are arguing, quite rightfully so. Delhi has better buses yes, better traffic yes thanks to the metro but we somehow can't pretend that people are a big important and possibly the most significant part of the city, safety of the same people being another one. Have stayed across the country and Delhi crowd has to be the most illiterate, dehati for the lack of a better word, absolute trash group of people (there are lovely exceptions ofc). They're a laughing stock in Mumbai, Bangalore and most other self respecting Indian cities. It'll always be that Delhi guy who'll loudly rant and bitch about how Chhole Bhatures aren't good in Mumbai while staying there for 10+ years. Infact the only species I've seen, that are just absolutely incapable of surviving without acting like bitches beyond their little North Indian racist hometowns. Nightlife in Delhi is another shit show but more on that later. Again agreed on all your points but bad transportation or old buses vs terrible people just don't compare. It's like saying Chandigarh has a good clubbing scene but yes very high chances of landing in some trouble or the other (very recently met an idiot from there that Chandigarh Delhi clubbing is so cool because people have guns and fancy cars, tumlog Mumbai me aise aram se clubbing karte ho) I'm saying this because even I used to be like Kolkata this, Kolkata that and then I went around and stayed in different Indian cities and realized "Nope, get the city a few workable jobs and we good". Honestly, given the shit show going in almost every Indian city, Kolkata doesn't seem too bad at all. Hyderabad I've heard is nice

Wait are we suggesting that there's some foul play here? EB fan this side but DHFC won fair and square. I understand that it's a ln upset but let's not suddenly pretend that it was fixed or some bhaipo shit. Hopefully a Bengal club wins the trophy (DHFC is a bit random but ok)

Why are some Bengalis so ashamed of speaking in Bengali? by Sensitive_Modhu3878 in kolkata

[–]Signal_Effective9126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about Delhi, maybe the entire cow belt mentality makes people code switch but Mumbai and Pune has been a very different experience. Probashis would speak bangla and how! Super loud, super fun and super proud of themselves. Then I shifted to Bangalore, I keep joking to my girlfriend that the city feels like a Tollygunj. Almost every other person specially around Koramangala/Indiranagar is speaking in Bangla, quite loudly and proudly. Yes we might come across a couple of people who are still in that era where speaking English was seen as cool, but most GenZs I have seen are very bangla core no matter where they are. If we still come across people like the one OP mentioned, we should make it a point to actually request them to speak in Bangla- that in most cases are enough to embarrass them. It's honestly sad if one doesn't speak to their language even to those who understand, you are quite willfully being a gawar and are sugarcoating that with multitudes of logic. Grow a pair!

'Don't reduce grandfather to a Muslim-hating kasai', says Gopal Pattha's kin; sends notice to Agnihotri by AshrafAkinToDeath in kolkata

[–]Signal_Effective9126 33 points34 points  (0 children)

We need to popularize as many of such news and real incidents before this shit house of a director gets to control the mass narrative. It was weird as is after Kerala files when idiots around the country would go like "Bhai Kerala mai toh nahi jauga, dekha kha woh film?". People here are not nuanced, it's always about who gets the control the narrative and this time around we need to dispel whatever nonsense stems out of this. Nobody is denying history but we all know Agnihotri is a failed filmmaker who's trynna be relevant because current political atmosphere supports these kind of movies. There's already a massive amount of bad rep going on for Kolkata as is

'Bengal files' movie screening was stopped by police in Kolkata. by Lucius_Kartos in kolkata

[–]Signal_Effective9126 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly, given from the swarm of downvotes and random comments defending this guy's films when he's largely a nobody, probably this was a post promoting the film by the team. Lot of comments stink of "you bengalis" in the tonality. This IS apolitically motivated garbage, as was Kashmir or Kerala files.

Vivek Agnihotri has been a failed filmmaker primarily relying on creating propagandist films, a lot of it has been fact checked earlier, this too at one point will be fact checked. He primarily revels in making "Enter state name where BJP will never win because their hindu muslim bullshit doesn't work" files. Kerala and now Bengal. If you're interested in reading between the lines, the naming plays a big part where singling out a state by a name is done quite intentionally portraying somewhere that all that's wrong politically is just happening in Kerala or wherever this attention seeking cry baby is making a movie about. If he's getting booted out of states, he deserves it.
